  1. Oh dear! I will get onto that ASAP, thanks
  2. I have informed bank straight away when i realised id been had. The advisor said i dont need to change my details as it was done by bank transfer all they see is a reference name/number, not details of the account where the money came from. Do you think I should still ask for another card? Also Iv filled a report in online to Action Fraud online after your advice, thank you
  3. Hi All, Im hoping any of you lovely people can offer up some advice on an identity fraud matter possibly? I placed a wanted ad on Gumtree for some collectables and a person replied through the site informing me they had some for sale. They asked for my mobile number to txt me regarding price, postage ect ( person was not local and too far to collect, they said they were in Bristol, im in Yorkshire). An exchange of txts began about price and postage and i said i would pay for the items via paypal. The person said they did not have a paypal account and ask for a bank transfer instead ( in hindsight i should have terminated all contact at this point, as thinking about it afterwards anybody could have easily set up a paypal account in 5 minutes if they wanted a sale). I agreed as they seemed so nice and genuine in their txts ( confidence trick worked!) and to be honest i was so chuffed at the thought of securing the items i didnt for one minute think it was a [problem]. They gave me their bank details ( later googled sort code and it was an E account), and i transfered the money, they txt to say they had received it and asked for my name and address for postage, which i gave. After this i heard nothing, no reply to txts and phone dead when tried ringing.I realised id been an idiot and stupidly fallen victim to a [problem]. Anyway, it wasnt a great deal of money, so im not that bothered about losing it, iv learnt a lesson, But i am worried my identity may be used in some way to commit fraud. This is what they have on me: My name my address I paid by bank transfer and when i rang the bank they said it couldn't be reversed, but they assured me that the payee couldn't see any of my account details, sort code, account number ect. Further to my worry, I tonight check my Facebook, and look under the privacy settings and discover im logged in under 3 devices. One is my own mobile phone, another my laptop.....the third is a mobile device in Bristol....the place the person said they lived. Iv changed all the passwords on accounts like Amazon, catalogue companies online ect. Im worried that they may have discovered my date of birth, which was on my profile on Facebook. My facebook was set to private so only friends could see info, but as the settings said logged in on this dubious device from Bristol, im almost certain they have my date of birth. Also other info like what uni im a student at, what company i work for. Can they do anything fraudulently like open accounts, take out loans, ect with my name, address and date of birth? Or would they require more? This was 4 days ago, and my bank account is fine at the moment, but im beginning to worry about it now. Thank anyone who can advise.
  4. Hi, No our contract does not state we must do overtime, its our choice
  5. Hi, its my understanding you must be in receipt of a " qualifying benefit" and satisfy some conditions....full details available here http://www.help.entitledto.co.uk/viewhelp.aspx?sid=29&helpfile=disabilityelement
  6. union bloke is a collegue, and as much use as a chocolate teapot....he says they have to give us 30 days notice ( which they have) and that nobody is forcing us to sign the contract...basically if you dont want to do the overtime for £1.18 below our standard rate of pay....dont sign the contract. Surely this cant be right thou? Basically i earn £9 an hour, and any overtime i do is paid at £9 an hour ( until i reach 38 hours, than any overtime after that is paid at time and a half...im part time 16 hours a week contract).....from end of April ANY overtime i do will be paid at £7.82 an hour...this includes hours over 38) full time members of staff who work 37 and a half hours a week will also be paid at this rate for any overtime worked.
  7. Hi all, Last week myself and my collegues were called into a meeting at work ( local NHS hospital) to inform us from the end of April if we want to do any overtime we MUST sign a contract that states we will be paid less than our hourly rate. We will all receive £1.18 less per hour than our standard hourly rate. I cant believe they want us to do overtime at this rate, we wont even be getting standard hourly rate never mind time and half or anything else! They are cutting out breaks down by 15 minutes also! I for one, will not be signing this contract and will not be doing any overtime! Our workplace relies heavily on member of staff doing overtime to cover shifts as we have a lot of staff on sick constantly, and also people leave and are not replaced, leaving us severely understaffed ( we are 4 vacanices short at the minute and a fifth is imminent). All my collehues are outraged by this desicion, and have all said they wont be doin any overtime for less than a standard rate of pay. The powers that be cannot have thought seriously about the repercussions this will have on the quality of service we will be providing for the public.
  8. hello all..... My husband has always paid maintanence for his 2 girls and has regular contact, we have them friday to sunday....my husband is due to leave employment as i am disabled and my illness is progressive and has worsened and he is leaving his job to become my carer. My question is will CSA take my money into the equasion? As he wont be getting any money apart from carers allowance, will the CSA take my income into account and deduct maintanence from it? Thanks in advance for your replies
  9. I work for the NHS, and yesterday at work bosses called a meeting to let us know we have to work the royal wedding bank holiday....or if we want the day off we must take it as annual leave....if we dont take the day as annual leave we will be paid at a normal days rate with no enhancement for the bank holiday rate!....apparently this is because under the Agenda for Change, it was agreed we would have 8 days bank holiday, and the royal wedding would make it 9....i dont work Fridays so it doesnt affect me, but i feel for my collegues
  10. Aye, its true.... got a letter 2 weeks ago informing me that because of the cold weather and im on the essentials tariff ( for both gas and electricity )....they had credited my account with £50....i looked at my account online....and they have indeed added the cash TO MY ELECTRICITY ACCOUNT!! LOL!!.....yeah, its been freezing and iv had my gas central heating on more, so to help with the cost we will add it to your electric account ( with i was in credit with anyway)....instead of the gas account......nevermind, cant moan at free money eh lol
  11. Hello Forestchav Thanks for your comments. My son completed a BTEC when he was 13 and gained a merit, which is equivalent to 4 gcse passes, so he already had enough to secure him a place at college for his desired course, for which he has already applied and recieved his acceptance letter. His last GCSE exams for the subjects he has chosen are this month, with just one in May...he is allowed to leave april and return for the exam in May...they call it free study time or something or other lol. So, he already has secured a place on the strength of his BTEC alone, so any GCSEs we see as a bonus. So its mostly done and dusted and he has plenty of time to get some work, say, at asda on a weekend or something. His father and I feel it is important for him to ease into the adult way of life and work, and realise if u want decent things, you must work to achieve them
  12. Jadeybags, Hi You say u were on Income Support so didnt see any of the money....am i right in thinking then if your on IS you dont get any maintanance/CSA??
  13. I for one, am damn annoyed with CSA. My husband fathered a child 5 years ago before we were together with a woman he had a brief fling with, they were never in a relationship and she told him she was infertile and could not get pregnant, so no contrception was used. Niave of my husband to believe her obviously he should have taken precautions. They both went theyre seperate ways, then 2 years ago she tracked him down throu a social networking site, and informed him he had a daughter. He was obviously shocked and asked why get in touch now....her answer was she had met a man and been in a relationship and bringing up the child as if it were his, when the relationship ended she decided to find my husband and chase him for CSA. My husband paid for a DNA test and the child is indeed his. He has been paying cash every week to this woman since. She does not work, gets her full rent and council tax paid, She told us she had just had sky tv installed, bought a new plasma tv and goes out drinking when we have the girl every other saturday. Then she had the cheek last week to say she is skint and asked if he cud give her more money every week. Im livid! I understand ppl should contribute to their childs upbringing....but my partner feels " forced fatherhood" highly unfair. He never wanted a child and didnt even know about her for 2 years. Nobody forces women into motherhood, the woman has choices....a man has no say at all, yet is forced to be finacially and emotionally burdened for the next 16 years. I myself have a 16 year old son who hasnt seen his dad since he was 7, and i have had no cash off him whatsoever apart from CSA did once send me a cheque for £1.62 6 years ago . If it was up to me, this vulture would not get a penny, and i really begrudge her getting the cash off us to do with as she pleases......Tiglet says her ex is going to Greece, yet she had to pay for her sons passport to go on holiday.....Did the father take the son with him to Greece then? If so, why is she complaining about paying for his passport if the father has paid to take him on holiday with him! I think thats fair. I really dont know what some women expect! they want everything!
  14. Thank you both for your replies Will i still be able to claim his ctc while he is at college?
  15. Hi All, My son is 16 and due to leave school next month. He has secured a place at college, which he starts in September. My question is: now there is no longer EMA, is there any other money or benefit he can claim? Is he too young for Jobseekers? The course is 3 days a week at college, he has plans to look for part time work, but is there anything to help him financially until he secures a little job? I work part time 16 hours a week and my husband works full time. Any help appreciated.
  16. Hi all, My husband has a current account with HSBC with a large overdraft. He also holds a credit card with them. I hold a current account with LLoyds TSB with a very small overdraft. We married last month and wanted to have a joint account for all our cash to go into. We decided to apply with HSBC as my husband has a massive overdraft facility with them, and we felt this would be a better option as a " safety net"....we assumed they wud just " add me on" to his account, but no, we had to apply for a new joint account and apply for an overdraft on this account. They have decided we cannot have any overdraft at all. Now we are thinking to keep our individual accounts at the respective banks, and when i get my salary have it transferred into his account every month by standing order. We wanted all our money in one pot, so to speak, pay all the bills from it, and share whats leftover. My questions is this Is me getting my wages into my bank account and then immediatley transferring them to his account each month ok? Am i allowed to do this? Thanks all
  17. Good news!!! I sent the out of time witness statement to the TEC, and just today i have recieved a letter from the council parking dept....its states they have recieved the paperwork from the TEC, and they accept my statement and admit i should not have had the fine in the first place, and all charges and costs are revoked!! Im over the moon!! I feel so empowered! Many thanks to all the fab people who gave advice, without you i wudnt have known what to do and would have prob ended up forking out cash and being bullied by the baliffs. Once again....thanks all xx
  18. I rang Tax credits to tell them id got married, and they sent a form to fill in for a joint claim....then 3 weeks later i had a letter from the compliance team asking if i was a single parent still and to let them know if i had a partner! lol....i tell u, one hand doesnt know what the other is doing lol
  19. Hi, I would also go with the HMCR calculator....as you are disabled, u may qualify for the disabled worker element also. Dont quote me on it thou, i think you have to be getting some level of DLA to entitled u to the disabled worker element....Erika will know more i assume.
  20. Thanks for your reply Erika I must get the regular disability element then, the same as iv always got.....i was a bit confused as i thought when i got this letter it meant i wasnt getting any from now on!
  21. no this isnt a special loan or deal as such.....its just their normal run of the mill loan at the typical APR.....on further enquiry my brother in law has had a loan with HSBC and he too recieved this money in his account, he queried it and low and behold it was this " cashback".....maybe its genuine, but i cant get my head round it myself lol
  22. Hi all, Iv claimed a disabled element on my tax credits for the last year.....then i got married and stopped my single claim and made a joint claim....im still waiting from the 10th Jan to hear about my award....my DLA was up for renewal beginning of jan also, and i have just been awarded again, same levels as before, nothings changed. I rang tax credits to inform them them i was in receipt of DLA again and they said they would add the disabled element on again....i foned on tuesday and spoke to an advisor and she confirmed this had been backdated to 10 Jan when i made my claim, and there would be a payment going into my account friday ( tomorrow).....i then got a letter today saying as im not recieving the higher care award ( i get middle, i always have)....im not entilted to the severe disabled element on my claim.......im a bit confused.....is there 2l types of disability element? normal and severe? or am i entitled to no disabled premium? All i know is i used to get a bit extra before on my tax credits because im disabled. Anybody know about this? Thanks
  23. Hi Plod, the car is my own with a disabled tax disc....iv taken surfer's advice and put my blue badge in the window, so hopefully he wont touch it.....i sent the out of time statement to the tec via email, so hopefully that will be in place soon, keeping the baliff at bay and giving me chance to appeal....i really cant see why this fine wont be squashed as its the same as the october one...surely they cant do one without the other when its for the same reason
  24. UPDATE well, i recieved two letters this morning from the council, one stating that the October fine has indeed been cancelled.....and one letter stating that the April fine, which this whole baliff mess relates to....HAS NOT been cancelled!! They say they are unable to cancel or do anything further as it has gone to far to the courts and is out of their hands....the letter suggests to fone the TEC and get an "out of time" statement....i have telephoned the TEC and the woman has emailed me the relevant forms, which i have just filled in and returned....the advisor says it will be done within 24 hours. Then just now, the council complaints dept rang me, and we went through the whole thing, she confirms that the parking letter is correct and because its gone too far after such a length of time, i have to get this out of time statement in place, which will hold off the baliff and no further action will be taken, and i have to start an appeal again about the parking fine....he council complaints advisor says she is keeping the file open should it not come to a satisfactory end, i can put a claim in for costs........I am now going to fone the council and try and fine out if i can speak to someone regarding getting a breakdown of costs....how much i owe basically, as this baliff must be trying to b****** me saying its for £450....but i need to be armed with this info incase he does turn up, yeah? Also, someone said in an early reply the baliff cant touch my car as its disabled tax class....is this indeed correct? or do i need to " hide" it?? I keep thinking im gonna go out and find a clamp on it!! Advise please of my next step anybody? thanks
