  2. Served on the 5th June and raised about a week and a half/ 2 weeks before they're starting to turn them round quickly!
  3. hi all just to conclude this one, I wanted to let you know what I recieved my Acknowledgement that HSBC intended to defend from moneyclaim today. I also got an offer from DG solicitors for an ex gratia payment in the same post! came with the standard confidentiality clause. so as soon as I sign I will not be able to provide more info. Suffice to say - Settled! Thanks to all your help and support. My 5% will be going into the CAG pot as soon as I have it back. Thanks again
  4. Thanks for the response. I got an offer from HSBC yesterday (Alen Pretty) for just under 50% (£150). I'll post a copy of the text later (I am at work now). But in essence it says that for commercial reasons (the cost of man hours to defend the case) they are offering it to close the matter. This seem fairly standard. I will not accept and raise the moneyclaim when I am back in 1 month. In the meantime, i will send a letter declining. Thanks again for your help & support. Jo
  5. Hiya My LBA expires tomorrow. Please can someone advise on the timescales from raising a Moneyclaim to a potential court date? I ask because I will be out of the country 6th to 21st May and don't want to raise a money claim tomorrow only to be unavailable to follow the standard process. Thanks J
  6. thanks for moving. I couldn't find my original thread. Just for info, I decided to send my letters to a branch close to my current address. Thanks again for all the advise guys, i'll keep you up to date with progress. J
  7. Hiya I'm yet another HSBC customer inspired by this site. Thank to all of you that have pulled it together. He's my update: My preliminary letter expired yesterday. Of course Mr Beaumont was helpful enough to send his "I am looking into the matters you have raised and will contact you with a full response as soon as I have completed my investigations." holding pattern letter with the lovely leaflet so many of us all have received. Letter before action has been sent today. J MODERATED message moved . Can you please keep to your thread as this is for your benefit and the benefit of others following your case.
  8. Hiya I can't find the answer to this in the FAQ - but apologies if i have missed it: Is it OK to use the secure message feature on my online banking with HSBC to send a Preliminary approach letter? And if so, what address do I use for them? The original opening branch was in nottingham but I now live in London. Any advice would be most welcome.
