  1. Thanks for the quick response and brill explanation PmW. Have PM’d one of the site team for further help.
  2. No Joemay, I have a new provider plus a new number. Its brilliant as none of my creditors can pester me. My heart still goes over when I hear the phone ring though. I’d love to send a CCA request but sadly mine was an online application (Feb 2007) so from what I’ve read on here it’ll be enforceable. Good luck with yours though. Sounds like they don’t know their Rs from their elbow!
  3. Hi Joemay, how interesting that you have the same letter. I have absolutely no legal knowledge but definitely something is not right here. I too would love to know what it means for MBNA/Link and more importantly, for us. Also what to do next. Have at long last managed to scan the Link letter Shakespeare62 and PmW, hope it helps
  4. Hi PmW, thanks for that. Sounds like good news (if only I knew what it meant lol). What are the implications for MBNA if it has been incorrectly done? What do I have to do? Still having a nightmare trying to upload the NOA but will keep trying.
  5. Hi Shakespeare62, thank you so much for your reply, I really do appreciate your help, especially given the late hour. No I haven’t received a DN from Link (yet). Only a letter so far which I think is a Notice of Assignment? The letter is dated 23 March and in that letter Link say the debt was assigned to them on 20 March 2009. The letter was sent by ordinary post and I haven’t acknowledged receipt at all yet, either by phone or letter. I received a DN from MBNA dated 6 March (posted below), it mentions that I have to make payment by 23/03/2009 or (further down) that on or after
  6. letter from BLS threatening home visit so have sent off the following letter. Am starting to enjoy this. BLS Collections Collections Centre Charlton Place Charlton Road Andover Hampshire SP10 1RE Dear Sirs Account No. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx I write further to your letter dated xxxxxxxxxxxx asking me to call your offices. Please be advised that I will only communicate with you in writing. I also attach a copy of
  7. thanks for looking for me, hopefully someone else will know where it is
  8. How frustrating! I’m very new to this so hopefully someone will correct me if I’m wrong (great that there’s so much help on this brilliant site) but is it worth your sending corres to the head office address? At least there should be someone there to sign for delivery and hopefully pass it on to the right office. Good luck.
  9. hi scott, sorry to crash your thread but I'm in similar situation to you, having just CCA'd Lloyds. Can I just ask who/where you sent it? I sent mine to Lloyds head office at 25 Gresham Street, London but am having a bit of a wobble now wondering if I should've sent it to BLS or Lloyds Collections? Help! My thread is at http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/debt-collection-industry/192151-lloyds-credit-card-just.html if you want to have a look. Cheers.
  10. yes, they are very naughty aren't they lol. Thanks pmw, thought I'd seen one on here before but just couldn't remember where to get hold of it.
  11. I've just had a thought, should I be sending Link a letter asking for some sort of proof of ownership of the debt? After all MBNA haven't actually notified me that they've sold the debt on. If so, does anyone know if there's a template letter on here to do that? I can't remember how to get to the templates!!! Thanks in advance
  12. Hi PmW, thanks for your reassurance and advice. I will write to Link offering them £1 token payments as that’s all I can afford. Definitely won’t be taking up any offers of loans - I’m no longer credit-worthy Feel so powerless in this situation.
  13. I do hope so after all the aggro they've put me through. I always intended to pay the debt in full when I returned to work but there's very little out there at the moment. They have no patience.
  14. I have a Lloyds credit card (approx 20-odd years old now). I have been paying £1 token payments for the last year or so as I'm out of work. The debt is just over £15k. I've had the usual umpteen phone calls, letters, threats from SC&M and BLS. They are even offering me a reduced sum to clear the debt but I understand from other threads on here that these people are unscrupulous and will sell the debt on after you've paid (not that I have the money to pay them anyway). Am sick of it all. So, following yet another sleepless night I decided to take action and have today CCA'd them
  15. I have an MBNA credit card that was terminated a short while ago. I received a letter from Link Financial saying they've bought the debt. After reading on here how quick Link are to get charging orders I wondered if someone would be able to advise me on the best course of action here. It was an online application (c. 2007) so I'm guessing its enforceable. The question is, what is the best way forward regarding Link's letter? Should I write to them offering £1 token payments (thats what I was paying MBNA). Would be grateful for any suggestions/ideas as I'm dead scared that if I ignore the
  16. thanks for your response harrassed senior. The MBNA was an online application so not sure if I can CCA them as its probably enforceable
  17. Hi all, Have finally found my way back on here. I'm feeling a little stronger and have decided to try and tackle things head-on. I'm going to send a CCA request to Lloyds for the credit card. I will start a new thread for that, is that the right thing to do? Will be grateful for any help you can give (think I'm going to need it!!!). Also, I received a letter from Link Financial yesterday saying the MBNA debt has been sold to them. Oh well I will write with the standard offer of £1 token payment as thats all I can afford.
  18. Phew, just managed to log back in. So great to have so many wonderful responses here! That’s made me feel so much better to have your support folks, thank you. Goldenlady, the split of the debts is Egg card £10k, MBNA card £15k, Lloyds card also £15k and a Lloyds loan for £10k. Don’t feel very proud of it but I didn’t have a choice at the time. The Lloyds card is probably over 10 years old by now I think. I think the Lloyds loan was an online application but I can’t fully remember. That loan was taken out in about 2004 though so I might be ok? Great that Lloyds couldn’t produce
  19. Thank you for your reassuring words tendogs and you are so right, they won’t be losing any sleep over my account but I am having to take sleeping tablets. The thing is, I’m not sure if I’d be able to fight them, I haven’t got a clue where to start!!! I haven’t got a scanner so can’t post the docs up anytime soon but my brother is visiting soon and I think he has a scanner so will do my best.
  20. Hi Goldlady, there is a huge amount of equity in the house and that’s what is so tempting to MBNA (they actually sent me a print-out of land reg papers). MBNA and Lloyds have frozen interest for a while but, like I said before, MBNA now seem to be going for the house. I owe around about £50k in total.
  21. Thank you so much for your replies. I am already with the CCCS but as on jobseekers I can only afford token payments of £1 per month. Of course they are not happy with that and keep trying to make me increase. I can barely afford the £1 so its ridiculous. Even though I give my CCCS reference number it didn't stop them hassling me unfortunately. Things just feel very desperate right now.
  22. Hi everyone, I’m hoping that someone on here can help me please as I really don’t know which way to turn. I am unemployed after a stint caring for someone and unable to work. I have a serious amount of debt - a bank loan and three maxed out credit cards, one is an Egg card (online application, 2007), one is Virgin/MBNA card (also online application, 2007), one is a very old Lloyds credit card and a Lloyds loan. I paid a small sum to one of these companies who claim to get your debt written off (that was before I discovered CAG), they’ve had my case since just after Christmas
