  1. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/08/03/lawyers_fined_file_sharing/ Same [problem] as acs law, except it looks like these are going to get hit pretty hard.
  2. It must be nice to have it in writing from them that its unenforceable
  3. I happen to stumble upon a brighthouse in my town today, had no idea it was there. It was totally empty with a few people outside looking in, on the busiest shopping day of the week I asked one guy if hes going to get something, he looked at me and told me he had enough probs without trying to buy off them lol
  4. Barclays said it had bought the 1.15m credit card accounts at a "significant discount" to the approximate £2.3bn value of their gross receivables. shouldnt that be gross enforcables? Barclays has provided £400m for potential delinquent accounts, implying it paid less than £1.9bn. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/banksandfinance/8353999/Barclays-buys-Egg-credit-card-assets.html
  5. has anyone yet pointed out that they have no authority to overule the law lords rulings?
  6. You might want to take a look at the health and safety at work act, i believe that in there it states that the equivalent of the original creditor is responsible for the actions of its agents or any third party it passes work off to. Afraid im on 12 hour shifts this week and cant quite find the spot.
  7. Speaking of a campaign, and getting cag more widely manetioned, is it possible to have car stickers with the url made up? If a site team or owner could arrange for them to be made, im sure lots would buy them, i would certainly have one on my car, and a small bit of profit for running the site out of it as well. On the problems side, i have aspergers myself, which makes things difficult, 5-6 years ago a letter from 'them' would have had me in a right panic, i currently have a cc that has had no activity at all for 3 years, awaiting an answer to queries i made at the time, and an overdraft, with which i have tamed the dca, and they now accept payments i make without question All thanks to the advice on here
  8. i tohught the correct route for that was under cputr?
  9. http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20110419/12115613964/acslaw-boss-andrew-crossley-breached-solicitors-code-brought-legal-profession-into-disrepute.shtml
  10. I owuld question that, if an agreement has been terminacted, and accepted as terminated, theres no agreement on which to serve another default notice?
  11. Anyoen else getting those marketing calls with this info already? Had 3 today, i let it run the tell them to take my number off their system, Theyr fairly polite and usually take it off.
  12. Just caught the end of the bbc news report on that, i think the banks are about to get slammed again!
  13. Yes ive been looking at those links, i think im going to be pushing my gp this week, as she has reffered me to some help organisation, but i think if it isnt the right help for me, it is going to be a waste of time. I think that by having on my record that i have the traits, i think that gives me a right to see a specialist.
  14. I may be wrong, but i would disagree with that on the basis of differing interest rates, no doubt they will be applying the interest from the account with the highest rate.
  15. That, you may be surpised to learn, that 'diagnosis' and dismissal came from a consultant.. And yeh, i dont expect everything to be magically better, but it could at least help me with holding down a job i think. I have never held a job for more than a year, because after a few months my communication with colleagues break down, and i cant really explain why.
  16. yeh try telling them that, i think they just couldn't be bothered meself, am trying to find out how to get a private diagnosis, but no idea where to look at the minute.
  17. I have been having this problem for years, I have been told that I have all the traits of aspergers, but cant possibly have it because it is so incredily rare.. Still battling on, and being forced to try to live a life where i am permanently struggling. 15 years its been going on now.
  18. Im finding this area rather strange myself to be honest. I had a claim a few years ago against a local council, and i went to a local well know solicitors. With the evidence i had, they took it on, on a no win no fee basis. Now i know for sure the claim i had would be extremely difficult to prove, as there is a severe lack of evidence in one area, however, it is not unwinnable. 3 years down the line i get a win, and a cheque for over 6k. I didnt have to pay the solicitor anything at all out of this as they claimed their costs from the losing side, which is how it should be, i'm wondering if some of these are double dipping myself, I.E claiming their costs from the other side, then charging some to their clients? Oh and i didnt even have to pay the insurance against loss costs.
  19. Just a thought, but has anyone reported these to companies house to? If they have incorrect information on their letters, or dont reside at the offices they claim to, they can get into serious trouble with ch.
  20. I hadn't thought of that in the context of enforcable agreements, ill be reading further into that i think
  21. there is a way to handle these clowns, ive been paying off my overdraft for the last 3 years through these. I make it clear to them what i will pay and when, as im in and out of temp work still, when i receive their letters saying i agreed to more, they get ignored, and i pay what i can. I write to them each 3 months to detail my circumstances, with no I@E form, to tell them what i will pay. Each time they try to hassle me, i purposely miss a payment, this if course genertates phone calls which are easily ignored. After about 14 months of this, they finally accepted that it gets paid my way, not theirs, and all i get is an occasional random letter to ignore. I had in total so far, 8 letters threatening court, to which i usually respond with a letter telling them to make sure they make the claim at my correct address.
  22. This happened to me a few months back at a texaco, nothing dodgy, tho I handed my driving license card part until i got back, that way they can call the police and hand it over it you dont come back to pay, they were more than happy, and very curteous.
  23. Ignore westcot for now, if they get to heavy tell them your waiting for information from the oc only, if you dont get anything from the oc in 40 days, you will need to send a reminder letter.
