  1. Thanks mate. But will this be the end of he situation? What about the fees they are trying to add? I offered to pay the bailiffs the £269 today but they wernt having it, they inisisted on the £320 and they stated they are sending an enforcement officer to my uni address that will incur further charges. If I pay the council the debt then is that the end of it?
  2. Jacobs Bailiffs have been visiting my elderly aunties house and threatening her with removing her goods over a small council tax debt that I incurred from a property that I previously lived at. I have never lived at my Aunties house. I am now a student living in a room within student halls in Staffordshire. The original debt is with Knowsley Council. Jacobs have slapped an extra £50 to the debt and have also been rude and threatening to my elderly auntie and therefore I refuse to pay these extra charges. I am prepared to pay the £269 to Knowsley council right now, but I refuse to pay the bailiffs. What should I do? I spoke to a lady at Knowsley council who said that I have to deal with the bailiffs and cannot just pay the council, is this true? Also, if I was to settle the debt with the council what would happen to the fees made by the bailiffs? Would they still be hassling me for them? Would they still be able to seize property in order to pay off the fees thay have charged. Please help, my auntie is really scared of these people.
