Hi, My friend called the solicitor to confirm what paperwork to take and actually spoke to one of the solicitors this time. They advised the first session would be four hours to go through everything and it would be £920.00 plus VAT and any time over that would be £230.00 an hour. They have said it will cost between £5,000 and £6,000 with no guarantee he will win. Now at a loss as to what to do I'm so worried about my friend and just want to try and help but it's proving so hard because of the repossession having already gone through. If he'd known before they came I could have helpe

Hi, Unfortunately he had stopped opening his post and only realised the house had been repossessed when he got home on Monday and the locks were changed. The eviction was Monday 11th February. I'm hoping someone can offer some help as it'll be a week tomorrow and I'm worried he's running out of time Thank you

Hi all, I posted this yesterday but in the wrong place so am reposting here I hope you can offer some advice on this, it's quite a long story but I'll try and keep it concise My friends property was repossesed on Monday and he only found out when he got home and the locks were changed. He immediately contacted Northern Rock who first of all said if he cleared the arrears (approximately £1,100, two months arrears) and paid three months in advance he could get the house back. They then changed their mind on the phone after speaking to a different department and said they wouldn't

Ahh ok, thank you! Such valuable information!!!

You can also block their number from calling you by using BT's Choose To Refuse which costs about £3 a month or otherwise bue a Truecall for £100 and it makes any unknown callers announce themselves before even getting through to you and you can block them that way. I blocked MBNA calling by using the BT option and so far it's worked. I also sent them the phone harrasment letter and to date they have stuck to written contact Sorry your poor mum is bearing the brunt of this!!

Could someone kindly read over my letter and advise if I should make any changes WITHOUT PREJUDICE/ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF ANY DEBT Dear Sir/Madam, Re:− Account/Reference Number - xxxx – Harvey Nichols Account Card Your ref: xxx Thank you for your letter dated 14th May 2009 the contents of which are noted. In your letter you make reference to a default notice. In the first instance I must point out that this letter was not received by myself until the 18th May 2009 which therefore makes your proposed default notice invalid as it did not give the

I sent them the account in dispute letter back in March but they still failed to respond until this default notice. I'm going to put together a letter today and post it here before sending and would be grateful for a quick check of it

That's good, please update as you have any news.....be interesting to see if it uncovers some theft!!

Not much help in your case but I know with Lloyds TSB as long as you bring it back into the black the same day it goes overdrawn there are no charges. Can you find HSBC's T&C's for bank charges on unauthorised overdrafts? Sounds like you need to change banks if possible
-
Ask them to check the cameras in branch.....sounds like one of the cashiers may be pilfering.......*pure speculation of course* I can't believe they expect your mother to simply accept this!! Also try a letter to the MD of HSBC and contact Watchdog or some such, gotta be worth a try

Is there a template letter I can send to this effect? Thanks

Hi all, I've just been sent a default notice by HSBC for a Harvey Nichols store card which they actually no longer run. It appears to have been incorrectly served as it was dated 14th May and gave me until 28th May to sort out but the letter wasn't received until the 18th May. I CCA'd them back in January and they responded saying I needed to sign my CCA request. I signed the letter and placed a grid of X's over it to avoid any possible lifting of signature. I waited a further 30 days and heard nothing so sent account in dispute letter then stopped payment in March. I have heard noth

Thank you Elgrand, I was thinking of signing up for Choose To Refuse on my home phone line but am loathed to spend money just because of their harrassment. It's the calls to my mobile which bother me most because I always have that with me MBNA are just bullys and I wonder how people can do the job they do and sleep at night.... -

Hi all, If you send the letter asking MBNA to only contact you in writing do they actually abide by it? I'm getting royally p**sed off with the calls from them. I'm getting at least two a day if not three, they NEVER leave a message though which is odd! I'm not getting upset just annoyed!! -
Yes I had one of those today too....someone's been busy texting away....LOL!!
