Car boot sales I would say are a good place to find second hand clothing at very good prices too.

Agree. Although Charity shops are seeing donations dipping due to the increase of businesses offering cash for clothes. I have had 3 leaflets from different firms in last few weeks. The going rate seems to be 50p a kilo and they even collect for free. World cotton prices seem to have a lot to do with it. I saw a report where some dodgy outfits with charity status are exporting clothes tax free to handlers in Eastern Europe. Here the clothes are pressed given new labels packaged and sold. Its not right.

RLP letter
MARTIN3030 replied to That'llbetheday's topic in Retail loss Prevention/Other shoplifting allegations.
Its up to you to decide how you want to pay, since it is not our policy nor do we advise that RLP should be paid,we are not in receipt of any information that would determine which is the best way to make payment to RLP. -

Sony (Vaio) cancelled my order
MARTIN3030 replied to jimmmy's topic in Retailers - High Street and On-line Stores Forums
Welcome to the site. Can you confirm that you are in the UK ? Also which Sony offices you spoke to ? It should not take 10 days for them to refund your money. You should put something in writing to their UK head office and demand a reply within 7 days. It is difficult to advise on other measures unless you can say for sure that what they said about the email and mobile number is true or not. I have never heard of any criteria that requires checking an email is registered against the card-it is always the address of the cardholder. -
Prudential Witholding money

Phoning and emailing is not ideally the best way. You should put something in writing to their head office giving them 7 days to respond.- 2 replies

Welcome to the site. Whilst we do not condone shoplifting, neither are we here to be passing judgments. There has been no losses to Tesco and its unlikely that they would have a claim for severe disruption. You admit to being sorry and express remorse. There are two possible ways that they could identify you,the most likely is by reconciling your clubcard details against the data from the checkout you used for other purchases their CCTV camera footage from that checkout would make this easy for them. The second option is using the Car Park managed CCTV. Crime initiatives and co oper

Nationwide Credit Card and overdraft (N.I Belfast)
MARTIN3030 replied to Lilythepink's topic in Nationwide
I bet they would not dare to put this in writing. This is a clear breach of BCOBS too. Rule 5.1.4 G “Principle 6 requires a firm to pay due regard to the interests of its customers and to treat them fairly. In particular, a firm should deal fairly with a banking customer whom it has reason to believe is in financial difficulty.”- 246 replies

In their latest issue of Ombudsman news they have said this : Complaints about mis-sold PPI have dominated our workload this year. We’ve now received over 500,000 complaints about PPI – and are still getting over 1000 new PPI complaints referred to us each day. This has given us some major challenges. We’ve had to find a way to deal with unprecedented numbers of enquiries without compromising on our standards. It’s widely known that we’ve had to pretty much double the number of our case handlers. But if you consider the scale of the problem – with about 35 million PPI po

But what happened to Asda ? http://www.oft.gov.uk/news-and-updates/press/2012/116-12 Eight supermarkets have agreed to a set of OFT principles to address concerns over special offers and promotions for food and drink. Aldi, Co-Op, Lidl, Marks and Spencer, Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Tesco and Waitrose have agreed to adopt the principles into their own policies, following constructive engagement with the OFT. The principles clarify the OFT's view on how promotional claims should be used so that consumers can rely on them being fair and meaningful regarding the value of the produ
