Hi. Thanks for the tip about the Law Society. I heard about CAG when one of the guys who set the site up was interviewed on the radio (radio 2or4 I think?) recently. Anyway, I got the impression that the forum was set up by a group of people who were able to offer legal/professional advice, hence my message. Having looked at the postrings/threads on the site, I see it is for us 'ordinary Joes' looking to share knowledge about our experiences, which is all very useful stuff. Thanks for your advice, I will be happy to post my experiences once I've taken whatever action I can against Lloyds. Regards, Pete.

Hi. I don't actually owe Lloyds any money as they cashed a cheque offered in full and final settlement. However, they continued to seek payment for £351. Recently, following correspondance with them (due to me referring the case to the ombudsman) they have generously(!) agreed to 'write off' that amount. However, the poor credit rating I have had in the last 3 years from Lloyds information has damaged my property development business, for which I want to claim around £250,000 in lost income and damages. Hence the need for a specialist solicitor. Pete.

Three years ago I had Lloyds current account, and I wasn't happy with the charges relating to my overdraft, so I made my own assessment and wrote a cheque, offered in full and final settlement of the balance. Lloyds cashed the cheque, but have pursued me for the balance via collections agencies since then, but haven't let me deal with them (Lloyds) direct to sort the matter out. Earlier this year I took my case to the ombudsman, who got Lloyds to start corresponding with me. Recently, Lloyds wrote to me admitting they made a mistake in not declining the offer 3 years ago (despite cashing the cheque). As the losses I suffered from the appalling credit rating I now have, thanks to Lloyds, are significant, I need some professional advice as to how to proceed (small claims court does not cover the amount I am seeking). So, I need a very good contact for an experienced specialist financial dealings solicitors. I could go locally, but they are not specialists. Any contacts gratefully received. Pete.
