  2. I'd appreciate a little help with my particular situation please. I've spent the day reading this site and writing the DPA request letters to the majority of institutions that I plan to claim against. Most of these charges were incurred several years ago whilst I was still married by my ex. I won't bore you with details but we were in serious debt (mostly incurred by him in my name) and I ended up with 3 CCJ's as I couldn't afford repayments and the companies wouldn't accept my offers. Anyway, they are due to "drop off" my credit record in Sept this year, but because of them the only bank account I was able to get was NatWest. No other bank would touch me (and I tried every single one - Natwest happened to be the last!) I've actually been really happy with their Step account but am now worried about what may happen if I claim for the small amount (approx £100-200) of charges I encurred with them. I've also started a business recently as well as being employed so not only do I have 3 personal accounts with them (well 4 if you count my son's savings) but also a business account. I know there is a small risk they may close my personal accounts - but I'm wondering how likely it is and how likely it is that they may close the business account - again no other bank would touch me for that either.
