  1. Oops just seen similar thread that I missed - please feel free to delete this one! Sorry....
  2. Just seen a news story about debt collectors hounding people. It was on the main BBC Lunchtime News so should reach a biggish audience. They were saying how DCAs are meant to behave and how they often break the law etc etc, and highlighted the case of a woman who committed due to being harassed by them, and another who is being chased for a debt she doesn't owe, just has a similar name to the real debtor. Hmmmm, wonder will it do any good?
  3. Thanks everyone for all your support and help - you have been godsends. Sorry I didn't reply earlier have been laid low with really nasty flu (nastier than Lowells) and have asthma so it all went a bit out fo control. However am back in health now. God am waffling . Right, do I need to write to them and tell them not to sell it on as mentioned, or will it be sufficient to wait until they do sell it and then do what is suggested by ODC and fill the new ones in with the info? I just wondered what the best approach is.....
  4. Letter!!!!! Haven't energy to get scanner down and scan so here's the text "We refer to your recent request for a copy of the original credit agreement for this account. After liaising with Natwest in an effort to obtain this document we have been advised that it is no longer available due to the length of time since the account was opened with you. At this time we have closed our file and will not make any further contact with you concering payment against this account unless the copy of the agreement is received at some point in the future. If you have any queries regarding the above please contact us on...." Ooooooh result!!!!!!!!!!! Wonder who will get it next??
  5. Buchanan Clark & Wells are a firm I have dealt with - they're not related to RWC as far as I know, they're a bunch of people who congregate in Glasgow and enjoy being really abusive over the phone. They shout and are very threatening and offer to send round visiting debt investigation officers and phone persistently but I haven't found them to be any more competent than any others....and I've never seen hide nor hair of a visiting officer either....
  6. Have a great Christmas and an even better 2009. This is one of the most selfless sites I have ever known. Most forums have people at the top who are obsessed with their own self-importance. This is not like that at all - I have received nothing but welcoming support and excellent and freely given advice. My huge thanks go out to all of you, with a special mention to Fred Bassett, Fuzzybobble, Scabhunter and ODC who apart from being very helpful are also extremely funny.
  7. Oh well, I was in the wrong town LOL. I don't know Lisburn that well; I can only remember the market my mother dragged me round regularly in the 70s and the swimming baths because you drove past them and could see the diving boards....and Lagan Valley hospital as I spent 6 weeks in it after a horse was inconsiderate enough to stand on my head. I would set it on DCAs now.....it's not a pleasant experience
  8. Big Congratulations Noomil and ScarletPimpernel! Liked your pic of the ex RobWay building, where is it? I have been racking my brains (what's left of them after the constant 1980s Bass swilling , and cannot place it....it's not city centre is it? Looks a bit more rural than that. Is it up Newtonards Rd way? Anyway....make sure you have several drinks to celebrate and think of a jealous ex-Ballynahinch girl whilst you have it XXXXX
  9. And in case you were in any doubt, here is one of their experienced negotiators who can TAKE PAYMENT OVER THE PHONE BY CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD
  10. And the ones who would vote for a dog if it wore a labour rosette....
  11. Supposing this consultaiton is approved/passed (what WERE they on when they dreamed up this anyway??), would you still have to have been taken to court first to say bailiffs could be sent in, or are they saying that if you may/might/could possibly owe money to Tom/Dick/Harry they can just come inn and take the tv?
  12. Rayne, I currently have the letter you have saying they are retrieving it along with a special F&F offer. Then followed it with a client about to retrieve it, BUT if you pay up quick you can still have our special offer...am now waiting for the account closed letter as I have it on good authority they are unlikely to come up with a CCA, enforceable or otherwise
  13. Or perhaps they are so desperate for new customers they are hoping that the cost of doing this survey will be covered by raising peoples' awareness to the new amazing rate and they will all be clamouring for them. Hmmmm, don't think many CAGgers will be accepting their lovely offer
  14. I barred witheld numbers but the problem with that is that the schools then can't contact me, or hospitals etc, so I had to change it back again...
