  1. The contract does not mention the sub meter because they only found out about it after I moved in - about 6 months after. Thanks for your reply Andrew
  2. I am looking for some help as I have just discovered that the flat that I am renting does not have its own meter. The bill comes to the flat next to mine and they then read my submeter to let me know how much I need to pay. This has come to a head recently as the other flat received a bill for £2000 and it turns out that the guy who was renting before me never paid the bill. I have just received a bill for the first two and a half months of my tenancy which comes out at £300. I cant beleive that the bill is this high as I have not even had the heating on during this time. Can anyone give me some advice on where I stand legally with this sub meter as I am sure that the readings are incorrect and I was not told when I moved in that this was the case. I made every effort to sign up for the electricity and kept telling the agent that I could not but they never did anything. Many thanks for any help that anyone can give Andrew
