  1. Hi Everyone, I am not sure really there is anything I can do about this, and its not for a lot of money really, but the whole morality of this stinks, and I swear I feel like I am getting screwed over. What happened: I did a quick job for a client, totaled $200.00. I deposited the money, 2 days later the money is posted to my account for available funds. I spend this money, all but 30 dollars to keep the account positive. A few days later I check my account online, and the check had bounced. Now, the problem is, that account only had the $200 that I deposited form the client. I had made 6 different debits on the account, leaving a total of $30.00 in the account to keep it positive. Well, when they deposited my check for the "checkback" fee, all of the items which I had previously deposited on my account were now over draft charges. While I understand that it is not the banks fault that the check bounced, the fact that they are giving me 6 different overdraft charges because of is ludicrous! How can they do that when they TOLD me that I had that money as available funds to spend? If the money is deposited, and the bank says that I have the money, then how is it my fault for spending the money that the bank told me I had to spend? I spent the past 2 hours at the bank fighting with these ignorant people and their responses all centered around the idea that I need to talk to the company that gave me the original $200.00 dollars. The thing is, these guys screwed me over, and they are not going to 1) give me the $200.00 they initially owed me, and 2) they would definitely not cover the overdraft charges. The bank has complete control of this, they can easily wave the overdraft charges, and that is all that I want. But they wont do it. They will clear 2 of the charges, but there are still 4 more! Really, I don't even care about the money, its not a big deal. But, the fact is that I have been with this bank for over 10 years. I have many accounts with them, and up until now I have not had any problems. This is completely out of my control, and the fact that the bank told me I had the money as available, not even just pending but available, and then I spend that money and then they debit without warning or even alerting me is crazy! I mean, if they would have just told me I could have put money back into that account to keep it positive, but they didn't and now I am having to pay more money than I was initially owed. I don't think there is anything more I can do about this, but I am just so freaking mad right now that I can get legally robbed of my money from a company that has a unimaginable surplus of money. It makes me want to close all my accounts, get a fire proof safe & a shotgun and put all my money under my bed cushions. Anyways, any ideas for anything I can formally do to claim this money back as mine? Thanks for any help, replies, etc.
