  1. Hi looking for some help for my wife She started her current employment 4 years ago, as a Sales Assistant. It was decided the store would open on Sundays, and that she would become the Weekend Supervisor. With this she Received a 50p an hour pay rise. On several occasions she requested a written contract but never received one. She has had a total of 3 managers who have all employed her as a "Weekend Supervisor", and she has been paid as such ever since the agreement - Although the company have reduced the extra pay to only 10p an hour. The company have now had a change of contract, and she is being told that she is not, and has never been employed as a supervisor - this is from the area manager and the HR department - but is a sales assistant. The company employed someone a few months ago as a part time Supervisor - who never works weekends due to family commitments. She has the title of "Weekend Supervisor", and my wife is being told basically tough. If you cover we will pay you the going rate, but that's it - you are a sales assistant. There is more to the story, but I think that is a good start. Any help would be appreciated!
