  1. I've received a letter this morning from the Met Police saying that my vehicle was speeding in an area 200 miles away from my home address. My car was parked outside my house and I was in bed at the time of the "offence" . On the reverse, it only has places to input the driver details of who was driving at the time. There are increased penalties for non-reply. There are no telephone contact details on the form and the Met website seems to ay I can write to them but they'll see me in court to discuss any points that I raise. My initial concern is the letter itself but also how this has occurred - what can I do if I suspect someone is driving round with forged number plates with my Registration number on their vehicle?
