1. Ericsbrother, they are picking people off for redundancy every other week. I think they are taking a lot of their business overseas to Mumbai, as they already use this country for a lot of their business now. I still think it stinks though, I am going to get her to query what they are trying to do, as I know they have not carried out their HR policies correctly In the past. Thanks everyone for all your input, I really appreciate it
2. Thanks for your quick reply Honeybee. The employer is a major Airline who employ thousands of staff. My friends daughter works in the office side of the company. She works 4 days a week part time, but I would think that would be irrelevant. I will pass on the information to her you have given. Many thanks again
3. Hi, I wonder If someone can give some advice. My friends daughter had her baby a month ago and is on maternity leave. She has worked for her employer for over 6 years. Last week she received in the post a letter from the employer to say they are making her redundant. Are they allowed to do this ?? It is a major company and I'm not sure where she stands with the situation. Thanks in advance for any advice
4. Hi all, Went down to the said carpark a couple of days ago, and took some cracking pictures of other cars that were parked where I parked, NO INVOICE SLAPPED ON THEIR CARS. I sat there for 45 minutes to see if anyone appeared to slap an invoice on any of the cars that were 'not parked correctly', but no one was sneaking invoices on any of the vehicles. I have taken a few pictures of various other things in the car park that will blow them out of the water if it goes to court. so, if they want to do court I am ready and waiting !!
5. Hi EB. The Parking invoice was slapped on the car August 2012. I am more than happy to go to court to defend the case. I will not pay them one penny for parking in a carpark that was free to everyone, no pay & display for anyone and a 2 hour parking time limit for everyone ( except me, for 6 minutes total time in car park). Do they really think I would pay them £150 to use a car park for 6 minutes which is free . I was shopping in the Lidl store car park. I still have the receipt for the time I was in the store which was six minutes. Their 'attendant' was lying in wait obviously waiting to run over and slap their invoice on the car as soon as I left the car. I took pictures that day of the attendant in his private unmarked car, no uniform on and trying to pretend he was invisible. I challenged him and he said he put the invoice on my car because I had not parking correctly between the white lines!!! I have since taken pictures of other cars that park in exactly the same place as I did. I also took pictures of their terms and conditions which are half way up a lampost in the carpark, which can only be read if you park first then look up 15 feet to try to read their notice. There is no warning anywhere as you enter the carpark that there is parking patrol there. I thought they have to have a notice as you enter a car park explaining it is controlled and what happens if you ' break their rules'. I will fight this tooth and nail if it goes to court and will not be bullied by these people.
6. Kirkby, I thought it was another of their 'missing you' letters !! Im surprised they have started up their chain letters to me after receiving the last one 12 months ago, maybe they are hoping I will be contributing to their Christmas party fund.... I don't think so . Thanks for all your replies. I will keep you informed when the next one appears. If they have the nerve to go to court, I will be more than happy to be there. I have all the evidence I need to prove what they are trying to do is totally unlawful and dispicable.
7. Heres the letter I received from them. Im not sure why its come out so tiny !! Its states at the top ' Letter before referral for legal action'.
8. Well, after not hearing a peep from UKPC and all their entourage regarding a 'parking charge notice' from last year, they have woken up again. I have received a letter from them today after not receiving any of their threatening letters since January this year. They are wanting £150 of my hard earned cash within 14 days otherwise they will be passing my case to LPC Law.... whoever they are, and they will in turn 'consider' commencing court proceedings against me. They will also request that the court passes judgment for all legal expenses incurred.....!!! I am assuming I continue to ignore these fools. If it goes to court, I will defend it to the hilt, as I am NOT paying these people one penny of my hard earned cash for parking in a carpark that was free, did not have a ticket machine to display a ticket, and had a time limit of 2 hours, when I only parked there for SIX minutes What do you people think Thanks for your time.
9. Wow, Are you for real!! Us 'normal' folk have these 'parking wardens' slap tickets on our cars that are unjustifiable, yet you want special treatment because you think you are above the law !!! How dare you think you should have special treatment. Because you have found a loophole that gets you off paying a parking fine that makes it OK does it? Tell us all the places where we can park in unenforceable bays then we can then tell the wardens to cancel the ticket. This is a prime example of them and us. I can not see for one minute if I were to park in the same 'unenforceable bay' that you did, and a traffice warden slapped a ticket on my car, they would then cancel it when I told them they were wrong. That is rubbish and you know it. Have a look at all the people on the other part of this site that are being ripped of by 'parking attendents' who slap PCN's on their cars that are not enforceable, but they have to fight tooth and nail to get justice. They havent got the privilage like you of their 'staff' to cancel the ticket for them. If you lose your job then so be it, you flouted the law, you have asked staff to do something that is underhand and you even have the front to think you can go to a tribunal. Unbelieveable !!
10. My next door neighbour had an appointment to see an 'Atos' assessor four weeks ago. She had to go to Croydon for the appointment. She went with her husband, which entailed them going on a train which was very stressful for her. She arrived at her apppointment 45 minutes early. She went to the 'book in' desk, and the 'gentleman' on the desk told her ' we have THREE assessors off sick today so there isn't anyone who can see you !!! She asked why wasn't she telephoned to let her know before she made this awful train trek there. The answer from the 'gentleman' who was sitting there doing nothing was.... ' well I couldn't telephone everyone could I' !!! She was absolutely livid, and I don't blame her. Why couldn't they have telephoned the people who were having wasted journeys?? It's not like they would have to telephone hundreds of people for that day., and even if they did, so what. She said some other people were still having their appointments because they were sitting in the waiting area to be called, so how did they decide who they couldn't be bothered to telephone and who they did. Needless to say, she's not happy about having to go there again to see these morons. Looks like its one rule for them and another for the sick and disabled. Oh, and she is still waiting for her expenses to be paid back to her for her wasted journey.
11. I always find the wording on anything that says a 'gesture of good will' very very dodgy. Why would they offer a gesture of goodwill???? I'ts like they are doing YOU a favour for taking your money from you. They, like others are just hoping that you will pay them something. They, like others are hoping you will be foolish enough to bulk up their bank account. How the hell can they justify that outrageous amount for parking on private land where you live? I wouldnt think they have a hope in hells chance of taking you to court and winning. These 'parking attendents' seem to appear from nowhere, everywhere! They are likes flies around a lump of S**t, or sharks circling their prey. If it were me, there is NO WAY I would pay anything to them. Call their bluff and let them take you to court, which I very much doubt they will do, and if they do I very much doubt they will win. They have stated in their letter to you the following 'private car park known as Redhill Court, Bournemouth where the defendant lives. These few words say it all don't they. Its a private car park and its where YOU live, so if you cant park where you live on private land, where the hell are you supposed to park.!! You may have forgotten to display a parking permit at that time, but that doesnt give them the right to chase you for money owed which you dont owe them.
12. Hi all, The last 'invoice' I received from this mob was on 10th January. I have ignored all begging letters (8 ) from them and haven't heard anything from them for a couple of months. Even if they do start up their 'gimme' letters again I will still ignore. I will never pay anything to these people. I work very hard for my money and I will not give one penny to these robbers. It makes my blood boil that the store owners are giving thier permission for these people to drive their custom away. Don't they get it??? I have not shopped in Lidl since I received the first 'invoice' last August, and won't ever shop there again. Who are the losers? Certainly not me
13. Why would you feel like resigning??? You have broken the rules and they seem quite justified in the action they have taken so far. Does your job justify you having the van. Is it an essential part of the 'tools' of your job to have it? I think you are acting very hastily with wanting to resign. Jobs are'nt that easy to come by these days, so I would bite your tongue and see what happens re the discaplinary. I can understand you feeling unhappy with them for changing your position to being office based, but I would just be thanking the lord I still have a job to be honest.
14. Employment Tribunal Fees - plans confirmed for Summer 2013 27th August 2012 The government has confirmed that that a two-stage fee structure for individuals issuing claims in the Employment Tribunal will be introduced in summer 2013. The amount of the fee will be dependent on the complexity of the claim and as well as an initial fee payable when the claim is issued, individuals will also have to pay a separate fee approximately 4-6 weeks before the final hearing. As an example, an individual who wishes to bring an unfair dismissal claim will have to pay £250.00 when he/she submits the claim, and a further £950.00 as a hearing fee. The intention behind the introduction of these fees was to pass some of the costs of the Employment Tribunal system from the taxpayer to the user. The government are also hopeful that it will encourage early settlement of claims. The introduction of fees will come as a welcome relief to employers, who are hopeful that the reform will go some way to deterring ill-founded or unmeritorious claims. That said, employers should be aware that individuals on benefits or low incomes may be exempt from paying the fee or may be eligible to pay a reduced fee. In addition, there are fees payable by employers as well, including when an employer wishes to issue a counter claim and where an employer wishes to enter into judicial mediation. Don't know if this has been mentioned here before, but I would think this will please quite a few employers who's disgrunteled staff are wanting to take them to Tribunal. It may put quite a few people off going to Tribunal if they have to stump up these fees.
15. Yep, You are right. I watched it again and it was UKCPS. Funny how they have such similar company names.
16. Now, I always thought there was only One May in our calendar !! They've got three Mays in such a short space of time. Must be a leaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap year
17. I thought it was UKPC on the program? Are they are different mob from UKCPs?
18. A Tyneside gang who unlawfully relieved motorists out of almost £500,000 by issuing fake parking tickets in supermarket disabled bays have been forced to pay back thousands of pounds. Linda Clark, her son Philip Clark and Walter Rourke were pursued under the Proceeds of Crime Act following their convictions at Newcastle Crown Court. They set up two companies to receive payments from unwary motorists which ran for several years before they were reported to police. It just shows that this 'gang' are no different from all the other 'gangs' ie UKPC, Parking eye etc etc.! I suppose the only difference is this mob got caught and justice was served, where as all the others are still allowed to roam free with their illegal 'business's'.
19. Thanks everyone for you good wishes and replies. Dont know what I would have done without reading all the info on here and it giving me the support and strength needed to take it all on. I did have advice with my case from a wonderful lady from the local CAB office ( and from you lot here), but handled the tribunal on my own, as I knew it was only me that knew my case better than anyone else, and wouldnt trust a solicitor to probably mess it up!! Although it was slightly daunting, I knew I had enough evidence to prove all their lies. I would do it all again if need be ( not that I would ever want to have to ), but if we don't stand up to these people they have won. Oh, and sending you some luck too BillyBob
20. Please ignore UKPC. If you reply to them or 'Appeal' which we all know the outcome of that as its a ghost appeal, you will be playing into their hands. There is no such thing as an appeal withe these people. Everyone who 'appeals' will be given the 'no' from them. As all the others have said, IGNORE them. If you reply to any of their 'requests' to hand over money to them, you will be reeled in by their unlawful requests for your money. Take notice what everyone here is saying and IGNORE them.
21. HI, An update to my case. I went to my tribunal this week and won! I have cleared my name and the person who caused all the problems toward me was tied up in knots and shown to be the liar I had said they were. I will be putting all this behind me now and getting on with my life without all this hanging over me anymore. I am glad I carried on with my case, as there were many times I wanted to throw in the towel, but had I have done that that person would have carried on with their awful regime. I have found another job which I start on Monday, and I am very happy with the way things have turned out now. Thanks for all your help when I needed it.
22. Hi, Just a word of warning to check your bank statements as often as possible. I check mine online weekly, and have had 2 fraudulent direct debits set up from my account without my knowledge. The first was from RETRAK which is an overseas charity, and the second was from Amnesty International. Both were DD's for £8 a month to be sent to them. They were both set up on different dates over a time span of week, this happened this month. I have never had any dealings with either of the charities that set these transactions up. I called my bank and told them it was nothing to do with me and they immediately refunded the money back to my account and cancelled the DD's. I asked them to put these transactions to their fraud department and to follow them up as I am sure I am not the only one who has had this happen to them. Please check your statements for any transactions that have not been authorised by you.
23. Yes chargeback does work. I had the same problem when MFI went down the pan. Had paid a deposit on my Debit card of £1800 and MFI said I had lost all my money.I called my bank ( Barclays) to do a chargeback. Although at first they 'pretended' they didnt know what chargeback was, when I explained the rule to them they repaid all the money back to my account. Also, if calling Barclays, there is a freephone number 0800 400100 that gets you through to them for any problems re your account.
