  1. Quick update - I have spoken to Lloyds about their terrible error in writing to my late husband re PPI claim. I have been told that under my circumstances they are looking very favourably at my claim! I guess I may get the premiums back but I am not gettiing overly confident.
  2. Oh they have treated us very. very badly. They had been clearing our cheques for years without a record of our signatures. It was only when we made a capital repayment on our mortgage that they decided not to clear the cheque. Tha took 2 months to sort out. Since my husband's diagnosis in October 09, they have tormented me with total and utter incompetence in all that they touch in my financial affairs. I am very surprised at the lack of responses to my current issue. Is it worth my while taking this to a solicitor or will they just make everything a whole lot worse?
  3. Thank you for this but what difference will that make to my nightmare?
  4. Dear all, Your advice & experience would be helpful. 4 1/2 years ago we moved house. Lloyds TSB cancelled my husband's life insurance policy when we paid off our old mortgage. We realised this & went to our local branch to buy a new policy for the new £50Kmotgage on the new house. 18months ago he was diagnosed with terminal cancer. He phoned Lloyds - to be told there was no life cover on this "new" policy & it was a PPI. He claimed & mortgage repayments were paid for for 3months. He died in May last year. Went to bank with all financial/legal stuff &told the estates dept would sort everything. No mortgage was paid for 4 months but they wouldn't tell me what was happening as I wasn't the policy holder! In October I got a stinking letter from Lloyds telling me I was behind with the mortgage & to pay up immediately. They had downgraded my credit rating too. To cut it short I had to go onto a consumer radio programme to get resolution. The PPI dept had not informed the mortgage dept or me that the policy was cancelled the day my husband died. I got £200 compensation for their error. Have now sent in a claim for the misselling of the PPI - I am left with this mortgage - which I shouldn't be if they had given us what we wanted 4 1/2 years ago. I sent in all the paperwork including a death certificate. Letter has arrived addressed to my late husband telling him they will take up to 16 weeks t investigate. I am now puttng the house up for sale as my finances can't keep me here. Your thoughts please? I feel absolutely devasted that this bank has done this to me .........
