Hi, we have a shop unit within a shopping centre. The rent is quite high and the trade in the town is ever decreasing. With the current economic climate trade has dropped significantly and several of us independant traders are struggling to survive. A few of us have contacted the landlord ING. They have flat refused to compromise at all on the rents even though their own footfall figures show a year on year decrease of about 15%. Can anyine suggest how to move to force the landlords to reduce the rents? I believe there are special surveyors who can do these sorts of negotiations, what are they refferred to, and does anyone have any experience of using such surveyors? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Shaf
