  1. I think I will start a thread on the forum titled Site Owner Exposed by very anonymous For all of you who have had your names dragged through the mud on this site and for all those businesses that have suffered through anonymous so called restaurant / pub 'critics' I have discovered who owns this site: It's a techno geek by the name of xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx who is clearly too busy to bother moderating the huge website he has set up, as you can tell by his business name 'Another Pointless xxxxxxxx' Feel free to post your comments! What do you think? give him a taste of his own medicine? I can't get into any trouble can I?
  2. Just to update everyone: It seems the guy that owns the site is just doing it for kicks as I can't see where the revenue is comming from. Also he is a member of many forums & places his opinions & reviews about just about every subject. Probably doesn't have time to moderate his own forum (which incedently is massive - covers 80 towns). Stirring gossip about if you ask me. As I said in the begining of the thread you can find out such things as who is the local bike, where to get drugs etc I think he needs some legal action. What does everyone else think?
  3. MrShed you need to empty your mailbox, I have a couple fo messages waiting for you.
  4. its a .uk.com address. I now have the ex Technical Director's name thanks to the help of MrShed. Seems he belongs to loads of different forums, his mame is everywhere when you google it. i am wondering if I should just join one of the forums & ask him outright for the companies address?
  5. No I still cannot find an address for the site holder. it seems all the advertising on it is free. God knows how they earn an income. As my emails are ignored, I don't want to post any more comments on the site myself as it makes it look worse. i have posted professional replies to the genuine ones, making it clear that they are from the pub & I have also put a paragraph on to update everyone about our news, why we have had to change our menu, opening times etc. People have just written more stuff above it. Ok I will give up trying to sue for loss of business - but my barmaid want's to sue for libel, as there are three posts specifically about her (and not in the performance of her job as bar maid) I just need to find an address - could i pm someone the website details?
  6. Thanks Creditcardmug. As I am a publican working all the hours under the sun for zero earnings I think I can probably offer them £1 each!. As I said before I need to buy some time until the new year when my tenancy expires & I can get out of this hellish situation. Problem is debt collectors wont be good for business as they can gain entry, so I need to avoid that one. I think I will have to go bankrupt because I also have a property being repossed for which I will probably end up with a huge bill for. Can't go bankrupt yet until I am free from my pub in which I am a director of a limited company. All very complicated! I will start drafting that letter. By the way would mentioning my whole situation to the Cccompanies help, if I said that I hope to get myself straight again by february, in the meantime if you don't accept my offer of £1 I shall have no option than to go bankrupt... is bankrupcy a good threat to use with them?
  7. Thanks for all your help, particularly sharpman for those links. I'm still not sure how to act on this as I cannot find an address for the site & no it's not gum tree - it's one of those ones that gives all local information & local news & gets it's revenue from advertising. It frustrates me that they have a pub / restaurant review section where people can post anonymously, they don't even have to register so you can't tell how many different people are posting, it could all just be one person out to get us, but it looks really bad when you do a google search on our pub, or pubs in the area & all this bickering comes up - I wouldn't want to come to my pub if I saw it! As I said before I have tried emailing them & asking for it to be removed but they are ignoring me. Does anyone know if there is any specific regulation about forums & moderators, response times etc that would strengthen a case, if I could find someone to help me without any up front fees (and thats another problem!)
  8. I don't know if there is law covering internet forums but I own a Public House & there is a local guide to the area which there seems to be one for every town in the County (I think it's a franchise) anyhow there is a general forum & a pub review forum. Problem is people can post to the forum without registering so go under any disguise they want. Under the pub review recently has been some slanderous comments about my bar maid (she wants to sue for slander) and there are some really horrible posts about us as publicans & our pub, 38 so called 'reviews' so far (other pubs are hardly mentioned). I suspect I know who the people are that are doing it & have complained to the side moderators about 6 weeks ago asking that they remove it all and also asking that they update our details about opening times etc. they have ignored my email. Also I have emailed what I assume to be the holding Company of all these sites and mentioned that it's a police matter and I need to know the site owner. Still no reply. On other areas of the forum you can find out who is drug dealing & where you can get drugs. The site should be closed down & is clearly not being moderated. When you google our pub name this site comes up second, our turnover has noticibly dropped recently & we are recieving no christmas bookings. Is there any law covering this & what shoud I do ? Thanks
  9. Hi all , this is my first post: You know I was about to post a similar question. I owe tens of thousands on different CC's. May have to go Bankrupt soon, but in the meantime thought i would try to get it reduced this way. Up until now I have kept up with minimum payments & been squeeky clean but the bottom has just dropped out of my business & I have a property about to be repossesed so I have cancelled all my direct debits as of today. Question - I have been spending up to my limit on my credit cards right up until today - wouldn't that go against any claim? I mean if the agreement turns out to be un-enforceable am I not stealing? I will have zero income for about 4 months but still have to work 100 hours per week, so I need to buy some time, I was thinkning of sending out CCA letters first - then try hardship letters or somthing to stall for time. I don't really want to go Bankrupt until I have found somewhere to live! If CCA's are not recived within 12 days, am I right in thinking they have another 31 days to produce it & in the meantime can they not pursue the debt? Also are there any statistics anywhere on this forum that gathers together everyones success/failure at getting CC's & Loans written off? Thanks
