  1. Hi guys, Thanks very much for responding. I'm glad to say the landlord sent a new cheque which I'll be putting in the bank this weekend Will
  2. Hi there, I was given my full deposit back by my previous landlord via a cheque dated 29th July 2009. I've just discovered the cheque in a drawer! The tenancy ended in the middle of June 09. I've been to my bank who have (understandably) said that they won't pay it into my account if it's over 6 months old. My next step is to try and contact my old landlord to get a new cheque from him - however I'd like to know my legal standpoint with him in case it gets difficult. Thanks in advance for any advice! Will
  3. Hi there, My mum has just changed jobs, and found out she's been on the emergency tax code for the last 12 years. She's in the process of claiming back 6 years worth of tax, which amounts to about £7,500. Is there a way she can claim back more than the normal 6 years? She's never been written to or otherwise by the tax office to advise the tax code she's on is an emergency one. Would she have a worthwhile case if she was to take it to court? Cheers, Will
