Good morning. This is my first time, so please bear with me. To start with I am dyslexic, "thats a word in itself" but still I hope that you can understand me. My wife has got into truble with our joint account which she uses for hear wages and daily expencis. In July the account stared to go over the overdraft limit which started the charges. We transferd funds to cover this but we could not keep up. We think that the main problem is that my wife at the time didnot realise that her direct debit card still worked even when the account was at its limit. to give you some idear of the charges recived. In less than a month this has come over £875.00. At the time we stated to try to clear it up by my wife going to see the branch manager but was unable to and then the phone calls came in demanding the outstanding amount I tride to explane that I felt that the charges were excesive and that I wanted to talk to some one that could help me but this was not offered. I phoned the financial ombudsman which told we to sent a "formal complaint" this I have done but with no responce from the bank. I then sent a letter to the Senior collections manager, the senior operations manager and the managing director but again have had no responce. With the help from this sites FAQ I have writen a SAR which I will be posting today to the bank. Tomorrow I have an interview with the Citizens Advice Bureau hoping this can help. The bailiffs are due on the 24th a lovely day that should be. In the past my banking and credit rating has always been good. PS what are Threads?
