  1. Yep, I have their name. I have tried to keep records of what they've said and when, even when they've phoned me up to 6 times in a day and especially when they've knocked on the door, although one chap refused to leave a name after knocking on the door while I was out. I have asked them to communicate in writing but was told that they can't do this as it takes too long for the letter to be received, replied to, etc.. I do feel a bit stupid about all this but I have never been out of work and therefore behind with things like this before so it's a steep learning curve at the minute and I'm in completely unchartered territory. Hence arranging an appointment to see the CAB specialist but that's not for 3 weeks.
  2. It's welcome. they also told me that as it's a secured loan the CAB aren't allowed to talk to me or advise me about thism. I'm guessing that's rubbish? [quote=Ell-enn;2242. I 538]OK, who's the loan company telling you this load of tosh?
  3. Hi There I'm hoping that someone might be able to help with an issue I have with a secured loan. I re-arranged a secured loan late last year which effectively meant that a new loan was issued. About 3 weeks later I was made redundant and have been struggling to keep up with the repayments. I have missed 3 out of the first 6 payments on this and the firm are threatening repossession. They are now saying that because the loan is less than a year old and that less than half the payments have been made that they can repossess without going through the full court process that they would have to if the loan was more than 1 year old. This means, according to them, they can get immediate possession. Is this right? I have an appt with the CAB in a couple of weeks but they have said they can't advise me specifically on this over the phone and to wait for my appointment. The loan company is on my back big time and threatening to serve a notice of intent to repossess. They have said that this means I'll lose my home in 3 weeks possibly from the date of the notice. If anyone can advise me on this I'd be really grateful. Thanks.
