  1. Both loans were taken out in 2002. First loan was redeemed by a further advance and approx £730 was added to the new loan after the PPI rebate. We then redeemed the new loan in May 2003 and given a rebate of approx £1350 against a total premium of £9800 !! First Plus wrote back to me blaming Norton Finance and have alledgedly asked them to contact me. A month later I have heard nothing from Norton Finance and no further contact from First Plus. As I can't complain to FOS I need to establish who I should complain to now ??
  2. Please could anyone clarify who I should be complaining to as I believe that I can't direct it to FOS as the loans were taken out in 2002. Norton still haven't bothered replying Thanks
  3. Hi, I've sent 2 letters to First Plus which they have responded to but totally ignored the points of my complaint. They have referred the complaint to the broker Norton Finance who have only responded to my first letter. My complaint referred to the amount of rebate when I redeemed two loans (the first loan was combined into another). The first loan was via Norton however the second loan was via First Plus. The first PPI rebate only meant a small loss to me however the second rebate was very small compared to the total amount of PPI. In my second letter to First Plus I requested they resolve or I would take further action via the court and report to FOS. First Plus have simply referred me back to Norton !! Please could I have some advice regarding my next steps. The loans were taken out in 2002 so I'm unsure if I can complain to FOS and I may have to complain to the FLA (????). Do I have to wait for my complaint to be completed before I can raise any action via the court? Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks
  4. Hi, I write to First Plus complaining regarding the rebates they made against two loans (joint with my wife) when they were settled in full. Here's an extract from my letter : "The reasons below reiterate the main points of our complaint :- * It was not stated at any point during the new advance of agreement no XXXX2 that any PPI from agreement no XXXXX1 was to be added to XXXX2. We were never given a complete breakdown of the rebate due against the initial advance and the rebate applicable against the PPI. We therefore had no idea that any PPI was to be included within the new advance. * It was never made clear that to us, by your organisation, that a substantially reduced rebate would be made against any early cancellation of the PPI or settlement of the loan. We don’t consider this to be “fair and reasonable” practice to add £733.48 to our further advance and then upon settlement of the further advance to only offer a rebate of £1347.95 against the original premium of £9796.00 after 7 months into a 12 year agreement (your rebate represents 13.7% of the total premium). We respectfully request that your return to us a full refund of both policies representing £17130.76 land all interest made against these policies, minus the rebates of £6601.28 and £1347.95 provide by you at settlement of both agreements." I have had a reply from First Plus giving me a breakdown of the two agreements I had with them but they have completely ignored the questions raised in my letter. I've also had a letter from Norton Finance who brokered the first agreement stating that they would be happy to investigate if my complaint is not to do with the amount of the rebate. I get the impression that First Plus are trying to "fob" me off with Norton who in turn are referring me back to First Plus. My complaint is with regards to the rebate given to me by First Plus so I'd appreciate some help as to who I should be directing my complaint to. Thanks
