  1. Sort of agree but this is a different situation: They are delivering to an area that has not had a snow problem. We had a splattering that was gone in 2 days earlier in the Month. They have had 17 days from order till now to either deliver or contact me: nothing! I an just pointing out that if they have been unable to deliver a parcel to Berkshire in 17 days (a non-affected postal area), how can they commit to deliver by Xmas - 5 working days away? They even said on the phone TODAY, that they could re-send my shipment but didn't think it would arrive in time for Xmas - a promise flashing on their OWN WEBSITE as they were speaking to me! People will order with them tonight expecting delivery by Xmas and I expect there will be quite a number of disappointed children come Xmas day. I have had many deliveries from various people & places over the last couple of weeks - all have arrived in good time. This is NOT a weather related problem, it is a problem with their own processes and standard of customer service. They have a network of outlets that if they were dedicated to delivering customer service they could use in this sort of situation: Pack & deliver from local store. Pack at local store and offer collection. No, they rely on a distribution centre somewhere up north & a carrier that appears to be unable to even attempt a delivery and just holds onto the stuff for a couple of weeks and then sends it back.
  2. Just thought I'd spread the word and give a heads up.... Ordered goods on 1st Dec Had mail advising of dispatch on 6th Dec Estimated delivery 9th Dec Chased on 13th.. no response Chased again yesterday... Voicemail from T rU... "Being returned by carrier, not able to get out before Xmas therefore giving refund". This is even though they are still advertising on their web site delivery by Xmas if ordered by midnight tonight! No attempt appears to have even been made to deliver, it is not a rural postcode, no card through the door etc. Just a heads up is all!
  3. Hi, my wife received a Fixed Penalty Notice today with offence code TS93 - stating Contravene School Control Area. Now technically this is correct but we have issues up our street as it is residential, dead-end and there is a school at the top. the lines cover a large area where there are no coaches, kids etc so it is a non-issue really, but they like to ticket us. Anyway, the problem with the ticket is it quite clearly states the offence occured on B ROAD, where as the car was parked (and school is located on B GARDENS! The two are completely seperated by 2 main roads and a load of houses, it is not like B Road becomes B Gardens - they are completely seperate. There is also no school or School control area on B Road (or within half a mile of it), so it is quite clearly an error by the PCSO. There is nothing about appeals on the notice, just pay up or go to court. It is issued by Thames Valley Police. Question is do I have grounds for appeal as the offence clearly is an impossibility at the location specified, and if so how would I go about it?
  4. No. Not entirely sure: a. What one is b. What I do with it c. What use it might be. A bit of a novice at this I'm afraid.
  5. I think the overall outstanding balance is around 23k (that is Loan & overdraft & fees etc). Missed payments total £209. Got a copy of the FSO complaint they have sent to Natwest today, but it is pretty basic. I'm thinking of writing my own letter setting out the key points etc. Would that be a more sensible way to go?
  6. Hi Thanks for the reply. The loan was originally un secured, which they sold me to pay off OD & CC with them. However after defaulting I contacted Payplan, set up reduced payments etc with all creditors who have been very good about it, except Natwest. They immediately pursused the CCJ route, even though they still only get what I was offering a month. Now with 2 missed payments, spoke to the dreaded Shoosmiths, very inflexible and they say they'll speak to Natwest but likely to pursue a charging order.
  7. Not sure if this is the correct place for this post but here goes: Back in about 2000 / 2001 NatWest called me in to the bank.I thought it was for a ticking off as my account was in a right mess. However, the woman told me she was off at the end of the week and needed to get her accounts in order! She then "sold" me a £15,000 loan (at the second attempt). The first time she tried based on my income it rejected, so she tried again including expenses as well, even though I pointed out that wasn't actually income. The loan was to pay off Natwest Visa (10k & overdraft about 3.6k, but she topped it up to give me a little extra). Anyway, the loan went through and sure enough I defaulted quite quickly (along with about 6 other creditors). I signed up with Payplan and have been happily (or unhappily) paying back ever since. All creditors have been reasonable except NatWest. They pretty much immediately pursued the CCJ route, and I have now missed 2 payments because I lost my job and they are threatening a charging order. Now I am working again and can resume payments but their solicitor is not really listening. So I have decided to complain (via the financial Ombudsman) about mis selling. My points are: 1. Didn't ask for it 2. Bank employee falsified the figures to push it through 3. Bank new I was a problem gambler at the time I have 2 qustions really: 1. How long will it take for them to get a charging order, and are there any delaying tactics I can use? 2. Any ideas whether I will "win" my mis selling complaint, or whether I have left it too late to complain? I've agonised over it for years, but always felt I needed to take responsibility for my actions, but now I have such a hatred for the bank... House is currently on the market anyway, so would like to sell before they get a chance to take a chunk. Otherwise I'll just sell it for just enough to cover morgage & fees and leave them with nothing just to spite them!
