  1. Yes : I had statements for six years upon which I used the spreadsheet indicated by DX100. This came to around £9000 including interest. The card pre-dated the date I had statements from and I only expected it to be for that period I had statements for. There is a breakdown and full explanation on the paperwork from YB including the fact that they had very little or no information themselves so they had to look at spending patterns etc and assume credit increase each year. . It took ages for them to make an offer but when I spoke to them they said they had taken advice from the Financial Ombudsman.
  2. Here you go: (rounded to nearest) Estimated PPI £1125, Actual paid £4231, charges incurred £1230, Associated interest applied to balance £13000, 8% simple interest £11985. Minus 20% tax £2400. I expected perhaps for the six years statements/spreadsheet I submitted, not the full time I paid it
  3. yes there was a breakdown : I don't think our calcs were far out for the info we had. we only had six years statements. From what I can make out they have paid for the life of the card and not just the six years because they said they had estimated a spending pattern/credit limit increase for where there were no statements. this was an old card.
  4. I'm pleased but mainly because it's a moral victory and very grateful for this site!!
  5. ***success yb***http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?437069 £29k on a credit card!
  6. ***SUCCESS*** Accepted offer of redress £20K+. Process now complete. Apologies for not posting publicly recently but wanted to make sure process complete. The card was a very old card and the amount is so high due to interest over a long period of time. Only reference to the third party DCA was that I could make an offer of payment but am not obliged to do so. I hope this encourages others to claim. Sincere thanks to site team and members for helping me do this at a very difficult time for me due to family crisis. I understand YB took advice from the Financial Ombudsman which is why it took so long.
  7. I used the spreadsheet that DX100 gave me a link for then another one for the 8% interest. I calculated an average interest for the period I had statements for from a previous SAR request and just submitted them with the FOS questionnaire. The last time I spoke to them they said the delay was because my claim had been backwards and forwards to the FOS for advice but that it was "full steam ahead" . I will post more info shortly.
  8. I rang YB PPI again today to see if any progress. I was told that my claim is in "calculations" at the moment and the reason that it's taken so long is that my claim has been back and forwards to the Financial Ombudsman for advice on redress?? They never advised me of this until I asked.
  9. spoke today to PPI team regarding duplicate letters they have sent re : proof of address. They said it's now in the calculations department...... and won't be too long .... let's see
  10. wierd!! all of a sudden has responses to my chase up letters (theyve sent them on same day) it's as if waited until the media announcement this week .????
  11. thanks : They've change the order of "options" for when you phone. option one is now regarding the recent media coverage !! lets just wait and see
  12. well - they now have all of the information they requested and it's now "on the system". They said now it's in the hands of a claim handler we should hear something very soon.......
  13. Took the information in today to be faxed to the PPI team. Called them to ask if they've received it. Told to call back on Friday "when it will be on the system..."
  14. is it normal procedure to ask for this? After several years fighting off DCA's, one court claim (discontinued) , I am quite cynical!!
  15. yes !! They are writing to me at my current address and I queried why they are asking for the documentation - they said that because my new address didn't match with address on their records which must be my old address. I am just being cautious
  16. yep indeed - my claim is still in the process - not had final response as yet. Just a bit cautious about them asking for ID / address?
  17. Thought it a good time to ring YB again today after they were in the news for PPI fine. We moved address and they have been writing to my new address but the time the PPI was paid we were at old address. A note was put on the system yesterday by the claims handler -- They have asked for us to take into YB branch : passports to prove our identity and recent utility bill to prove new address and to ask branch to fax through to PPI team. They told me this was because if there is an offer of redress to be made it's to make sure it goes to the right people and the right address? This makes sense as my mail was on redirection so they wouldn't know we moved until they got claim from new address. However I just need to check this is ok and not for any other reason?? sincere thanks B
  18. Well... I called the PPI team today. Answered some security questions (name, address etc) then they asked if anyone else was listening in on the call???? They said that my claim is still being investigated and they have a large backlog due to changes they've made last year to the way they deal with the claims process . They said it's nothing to do with my particular claim at all but the process. They said they will continue to send updates until they are in a position to send their final response....When I questioned them on the 8 week rule - their response was ...."things are taking more than eight weeks due to the changes we made to the process last year...." ..
  19. sorry!! I mean that we never paid the original credit card debt off and is now SB'd and as you have said ..once Sb'd thats it. I think I am just unfamiliar with the process and the time they're allowed to reply etc. They've had more than their 8 weeks now .
  20. I appreciate you're really busy and very grateful for help so far : just a bit puzzled re this YB PPI . I suspect they are holding off so I will go to the FOS and then I will lose due to defaulting and it being SB'd. However they haven't written an outright "No / no documents/ etc" but they haven't responded to my chase up letters either. I am reluctant to speak on phone due to the nature of the debt and tripping myself up. Do I just sit it out / are they allowed to not respond?? many thanks
  21. I have sent two chase up letters - but no response to either of them, but haven't had a direct"NO" either????
  22. I could do that but am worried about tying myself in knots over the phone - I will give it some thought thank you
