  1. Sort of. A new boiler was was fitted on Saturday but there is damage to the worktop underneath the boiler, the roof and the floor when the kitchen was flooded.
  2. Hi I am hoping that someone can assist We currently have a Home insurance policy with the Post Office with the Gold package for my mum who is an elderly 77 years old and vulnerable . On the 30/08/22, we discovered that she had no hot water and called the helpline and a claim request was made. An engineer was assigned and arrived on the 31/08/22. He looked at the boiler and was unable to fix this as he needed a part. He removed a part and advised that he would be back the same day to fix it. Unfortunately, he did not turn up and when I called back was advised that an engineer would come on the 01/09/22. The engineer again failed to show and decided to come on Friday. On Friday the Engineer turned up and this time he removed more parts from the boiler and switched off the water to the house and my mum is NOT able to flush the toilet, brush her teeth, use the shower or make a cup of tea. I called on Friday and asked why it was acceptable to leave an elderly person in house without the use of a shower or a toilet? I was advised that someone would call me back and no one did. I called back on Saturday and Sunday and was promised that a manager would call me back and no one did. On Sunday I also called the Post Office customer service number and raised a complaint. On Monday 5th September, I received a vm advising that the Engineer would visit on Tuesday September 6th between 8am and 2pm. It is now Wednesday 07/09/22 and no Engineer arrived yesterday, however we did Manage to book her into travel lodge for one night on the Wednesday and i was advised that I would need to get any other accommodation covered by the Post Office buildings team. My mum is elderly and vulnerable and has had no use of the shower or toilet facilities for over a week. If anyone can advise me on this it would be gratefully appreciated Thank you

  6. Hi I separated from partner in 2017. We have 3 children, 2 boys and 1 girl. My eldest decided to stay with me and the other 2 stayed with her. My ex decided to pursue a claim with CM and after a financial audit was completed (which was incorrect) by the DWP i was advised that I was earning in access of £100,000 per year. I appealed this and we went to a tribunal which was on line due to the pandemic. Some of the statements and documents were not available but I was successful in proving that I was NOT earning £100,000 per year. Since the pandemic and BRIXIT i have been on UC and receive £ about £800 per month. In June I managed to get my self a job as a Delivery driver for a major supermarket chain and earn £10 per hour. DWP have decided that since I am no longer on Universal Credit my income has reverted back to £100,000 per year. I have made a complaint to DWP and was wondering if anyone else has issues with Child Maintenance. Whilst this investigation has been going on, I have made payments monthly directly into the mums account without the 24% charge. Also I now have 2 children staying with me. The mum refuses to contribute financially for the 2 children. Thank you for reading and any advice will be welcome.
  7. Hi i have been a customer with supplier for a number of years and have been sending them monthly meter readings and then I receive a online bill which I then pay. However, I received a bill this month stating that I have not been billed for gas since October last year and they have billed me from October 2018 to October 2019. Also all the bills that were online have been removed and one annual bill has added to the online portal. My question is is there anything that I can do? Am I entitled to any compensation as I was sending them monthly meter readings of both gas and electric and then paying the full amount straight away
  8. Thank you for replying. I am not currently in arrears. Never missed a payment either. Trying to get a job whilst dealing with depression has been hard to say the least.
  9. Hi I am hoping someone can help. I currently have a mortgage with Santander. I lost my job at the ed of March and have been taking money out of my mortgage to keep making the payments in the belief that i would have a job by now. I have also been diagnosed with depression. I should be able to make this months payment (after withdrawing money from the account again) and I have only just started claiming Universal credit. Can I ring the back and ask them if they would consider taking a small amount every month for around 6 months until I can get better and back on my feet. Thank you for reading and also any replies
  10. WOW DX100UK I remember you. What is a fleecing CMC?
  11. Hi I am not sure if i am in the right group. Basically I asked a PPI company to check if there was any PPI outstanding. They took my details and wrote to other companies. I have received an offer of £50 from a bank and the claim company has asked for their fee. My question is, if I am not happy with their service and want to take the bank to the financial Ombudsman, can I do that myself and just pay the PPI company their fee without any further involvment from them? Thanks for looking and reading and any help would be gratefully appreciated.
  12. Hi Just an update the insurance company have offered to compensate me £1000
  13. Hi Not sure if I am the right thread but please udjust if required. Basically I was involved in a car accident in Feb last year. I exchanged details with the other party and as there was no damage to either car, I left it as that. In Decemeber I recieved a bill of £1500.00 for damage to the other car. I spoke my insurance company and they took over. They agreed that the fault was mine and they would pay for damages to the other car. I recieved a letter from the court asking that I should the amount outstanding and passed this on to the insurance company who advised that they would pay and take over and that I do not need to do anything. My insurance company failed to pay. The court date came and went and a CCJ was placed on my name. This has been passed to the insurance company who have passed this on their solicitor who has agreed to pay and try and remove the CCJ from my name. My question is am I entitled to money as it has cost me postage and also money to access my credit file as well as a bad credit name (not able to take out a loan) Thank you

  15. Hi I have found myself in a situation where all my direct debits come out of my current account on the 1st of September but I will not be paid by my employer till the 2nd. I am already using the full extent of my overdraft and have maxed my credit card. The way I see it I have the choices below - 1, Take out a loan which I don't want to do. 2, Cancel the direct debits and pay the direct debits once the money comes by debit card and then re-instate the direct debits. 3, Contact my mortage company and tell them to wait but if I do and they say NO then they might not lend me the money Can anyone put some input in this? Thank you in advance
  16. Hi I am a new business starter and opened a Natwest Business Account. This was running normally and I received monthly bank statements without any problems. I then closed the bank account because Natwest started charging me. I remember sending the statements to my accountant but he advised me that he has not received them .I need to re-order these, Has any one else been in a similar situation, How long does it take for the statements to come as I need them by the end of this month. Thanks

  21. This is the letter that I have been sending - You have contacted me regarding the account with the above reference number, which you claim is owed by myself. I would point out that under the Limitation Act 1980 Section 5: “An action founded on simple contract shall not be brought after the expiration of six years from the date on which the cause of action accrued.” I would point out that in their Consumer Credit sourcebook, the Financial Conduct Authority states the following rules: "...a firm must not attempt to recover a statute barred debt in England, Wales or Northern Ireland if the lender or owner has not been in contact with the customer during the limitation period." 7.15.4 "A firm must not continue to demand payment from a customer after the customer has stated that he will not be paying the debt because it is statute barred." 7.15.8 The last payment or acknowledgement of this debt was made in 1997 and no further acknowledgement or payment has been made since that time. Unless you can provide evidence of payment or written contact from me in the relevant period under Section 5 of the Limitation Act, I suggest that you are no longer able to take any court action against me to recover the alleged amount claimed. I await your written confirmation that no further contact will be made concerning the above account and confirmation that this matter is now closed. I would also like to point out that I have informed the Office of fair trading & trading standards.
