Hi there I received a private parking ticket and subsequent letter from a debt collection agency. If they have photographic evidence that the driver was indeed me, what would me defense be? That I acccept a fine but not the excessive one that they claim? Thanks for your help

hi there just to say i got a parking finr off ukcps and thanks to everybody here, they are off my back. lets hope the credit crunch hits them where it hurts!

many thanks for your posts - they have been very helpful and supportive. peternet must be mistaking me for someone else if he thinks i drive a merc, and needless to say i shall be avoiding all correspondence with him. Sorry peternet , if it wasnt ever so slightly serious i could also do with a laugh! I couldnt believe they could actually charge such extortionate fees - maybe if they charged less people wouldnt quite so unwilling to cough up. thanks again guys - and dont worry ukcps will not be seeing any of my money !

Hi there I have also just been landed with a ticket from UKCPS Ltd and was astonished that they charge 75 quid straight up! I also parked outside a private garage in leeds but it was about half six and the shop had shut for the day. I parked where it said "MOT only" but I figured since it was after work then it would be ok. It didnt actually say "no parking at any time" or reveal you are at risk of fines if you park here unlawfully. Can I still hold firm and not pay the parking charge as other people havent done on these forums? MAny thanks for your help and advice LM
