  3. I am keen to get some info on Egg PPI. I was on a 12,500K a year job, when my contract was stopped I thought that since I was unemployed the PPI could help. I can't remember exactly what it was, but I remember thinking that their terms were no good to me at all. Something like having to be unemployed for more than 30 days. Also thought it said something like had to earn 15K a year in first place.
  4. I missed that on TV, I know that Martin Lewis on MSE has been warning people not to become to obsessed with home ownership. I'm living with parents at minute but next year they will both be retired, they will want to sell up and move somewhere smaller. I can wait a year before buying but I definately need somewhere to live and if it comes up now I would want to take it! I don't want to move to a 2 bed bungalow in a retirement village with a warden named Dougie!
  5. I'm sick of living at home! Property prices where I am are rocketting and I want to get in before the rush! Just called Smile to test the water, they won't remove it. Going to put my thinking hat on!
  6. Searches March 2006 - Applied for BOI credit card - declined April 2006 - Co Op Bank - I was trying to switch from my current account at FatChest to the student account at Smile. They did the searches and everything, asked me to send statements, then told me I couldn't have the account because it was my last year as a student. June 2006 - applied for GE Capital Loan. Got accepted, but didn't sign agreement as APR was stupidly high (20%) June 2006 - Barclays - declined for Grad Loan June 2006 - Egg - declined for loan extension (already have £1k loan with them) Jun
  7. Isn't it unfair to have them on a year? When I was looking for credit I was a poor student (this was March this year). I now have a £21K job. I am a lot better off and want to buy a small house. So despite the fact that I can easily afford mortage payments, lenders will not lend to me because I went through a period of financial difficulty at a time when I was not earning £21K! Would a notice of correction help, a little note to tell them that I was eating super noodles for breakfast, lunch and dinner?
  8. Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but I have spent the past 2 hours searching and trawling through posts! This issue is doing my head in and I would appreciate any help. I have mentioned before that I got my Equifax report and NTL has noted I had been 2 months in arrears and had £122 wiped off my account. NTL have admitted that this is a MISTAKE, and after 2 months of calls it is still on my credit report. I have spoken to the Credit Team Leader this morning (who promptly asked me 'how did you get my number'! - nice man in credit gave it to me) who is calling me back. I think
  9. First off, I am finding this board a little star, it is helping me with various legalities, thanks to all who are providing info. I'm trying to clean up my credit file before I go for a mortgage. I have been looking at the searches and it turns out a few organisations have done searches. Call me picky, but I don't want them there! First off, I signed up to Quidco and registered on Paddy Power and Betfair in order to get cashback. Both have done searches, and Betfair have done a search with the wrong date of birth for me. I have been in contact with both and asked them to delete my account
  10. Super - thanks! NTL said that they will contact Experian on Mon and get that file corrected, they said this would take a few days. I have a name and contact number direct for NTL Collections now, so will give them a call next week to check up on it. I will contact my lenders to try and get something from them in writing.
  11. I can understand what Tesco are saying, you can't open a sealed container -health and safety etc. I can't understand their response to it, very OTT. With produce, whenever new stock comes out the staff are always told to put it at the back. Hence some of the stuff at the front is not fresh and has been their the longest. This would make a great story in the Daily Mail, Tesco have lost the plot a bit and that this incident boils down to that their strawberries are mouldy and poor quality.
  12. I need some help here... Lets say a sports company is offering a service, special classes. In order to get staff to teach these classes, they use an outside agency who stipulate that all class teachers have to have attended training in order to teach the class (cleared to teach). These classes are offered to the public on a timetable, the company also runs a few of its own classes. People pay £X a month for access to these classes. I have evidence that the people taking these classes were not trained, and that they were poorly taught and often unsafe. If I was to go on a public crus
  13. Sorry if these topic has been mentioned before, if it has if anyone could direct me to the thread (I can't find any at mo) then I would be very grateful. On my credit report I had 2 months in arrears with NTL from 3 years ago. I have known nothing of this. Finally spoke to them today, and they said they had £112 wiped off the account (what I owed apparantley). Upon further investigation in turns out that I cancelled the contract in time, but NTL had only cancelled the phone and not the internet. Hence for the past 3 years I have had this unknown blotch on my credit report, and this prob e
  14. Sorry if this has been discussed before, I've done a search and can't find an answer. After getting turned down for loans, I got a copy of my credit report. I have a few 1's (missed payments) for credit cards, but have discovered a '2' for an agreement I had with NTL (payment 2 months in arrears). I have no recollection of this, it relates to a student house I left in June, and they were claiming the payments for July and August - but I feel sure I stopped the contract before I left the house. The amount was paid in the end, as being young and naiive I thought this would shut them up (Thi
  15. All the domains are registered to me, but after attempting a transfer 3 have gone missing. They are reg to me but not in my account, hence I can't change details etc. Nominet said that they could change the agent and transfer alln the domains to someone else, would cost £35 for the lot. I don't want to pay this as it is xreg's fauult, but they do not respond to letter/e-mails. what can I do about Coveria (X reg). Can I complain to companies house? I have spoken to Trading Standards as they said they can't help.
