  1. Not unless you have anything in writing re: your basic rent, bills to be paid, etc. Sometimes it's better to let sleeping dogs lie. But the choice is yours.
  2. The checkout kid has obv. made a cock up but just a one-off I'm afraid. Just look at it as your TV licence paid for the next 18 months.
  3. No, I dont think they do as that's like saying you bought one in the sale last week - I'd like another one this week but at last week's price. It may well be on offer at the moment otherwise someone has obviously loaded the barcode details onto the computer at the wrong price.
  4. Hi NSG Have you actually looked at your file? I have loads of DN's apparently but there is only one showing on the file for some unknown reason.
  5. ....and that's why their shares are now FREE with every box of Kellogs Cornflakes.
  6. After applying it will take a couple of days for your password to come in the post. Have a look at your file for a couple of days & then just cancel the subscription with them (credit expert) & you have automatically stopped any proposed payments.
  7. "Borrowed" Courtesy of Scarlet Pimpernel - his reply to a recent thread: "This is covered under the OFT Guidance on Debt Collection, which states that the only fees that can be charged are those for which: - there is specific contractual provision for such fees - the contract states the amount of any such fees - fees are based upon actual and necessary costs I have yet to see any fee that a DCA has tried to add to a debt that meets these criteria. In addition, it may well be that this action is contrary to CPUTR 2008." Followed by his letter: Quote: Dear Sirs I refer to your letter of (date). Your attention is drawn to the Office of Fair Trading Guidance on Debt Collection, which is clear that any such fee must meet specific criteria. I therefore require you to provide evidence that your 'administration fee' meets the criteria. I suggest that the best way for this to be achieved is by way of an original credit agreement, and you should treat this letter as a formal request pursuant to s. 77/78(1) of the Consumer Credit Act 1974. I enclose a postal order in the sum of £1.00 which represents the statutory fee, and which is not to be used for any other purpose. You have 12 working days to comply. Yours etc. tom a The only mention I can see for DN's refer to missing payments (plural). I don't think they are allowed to issue after such a short period of arrears. The DN sounds dodgy as well. There are set terms. Does it begin: IMPORTANT-YOU SHOULD READ THIS CAREFULLY p.s. I would send October's payment with your extra pound.
  8. Sounds iffy. That section applies to Default Notices. Can you post what they have sent you after removing personal details.
  9. FM thats a lot! Did they use a QC? Were they wearing the same school tie?
  10. No, I used them last year. They are tied in with Experian - just remember to cancel asap.
  11. FMS you might want to look at the first copy as I can read your personal details through the mask !!!!
  12. That's what CAG is about. I'll be posting tonight looking for some help myself. We learn a little & then pass it on. Don't forget to confirm via the Royal Mail website that it has been signed for. They all have a nasty habit of never receiving mail.
  13. I was asking the CAG members with experience of these matters. It read like they may have been demanding payment on the same day & I didn't know if that was suposed to be - say - 7 days later.
  14. I'm not certain but I believe the "ant woman" could ask for it to be transferred to her local court (if she is an "individual"). Are you sueing her or her company?
  15. Is that everything they have sent?
  16. Am I missing the easy bit? Was the cheque made out to you or the LL? If it was made out to him then I would have tackled the insurance company as that is their fault & if it was made out to you I would have called in the police.
  17. Hey Richard that's a Debt Recovery Assistant you're talking about. Not my field but a couple of questions: Does the ticket No.3550 tally? Should the "Date" & "Due Date" show the same date? I shouldn't worry about the case being delayed as they have applied for a Daily Rate of Interest of £0.011. Hope the judge is good at maths pmsl.
  18. I do hope so apparently it's a bit drafty around Harrods. Good Luck & keep us informed. Dont forget to send it Recorded.
