  1. Hi there, first of all I would like to say hello - I am new here. I have been reading and following the amazing story of the guy here on the forum (forgot his name though - he wore sunglasses and got married last year, during his dispute - knoxville or something like this is his name - sorry) and I was shocked to read that in the end he did not get his deposit back. Anyway, I have a similar problem with my landlord. I have moved out in March 2008 and am still waiting for my deposit of 550 Pounds. He has now told me that he had to repair the bathroom of the flat below my flat, because there was water damage beyond repair, caused by my washing machine (it flooded twice, but thats it). He has done the repair withouy my knowledge and never send me any bill. He said he has send the bill "months ago" and will re-send it now. I was just wondering if it is legal to carry out repairs without my prior knowledge. I find that quite insulting. I have to add that I lived in the flat before as well and there were already damages. Sometimes water was running down my kitchen walls, so I doubt that the damage is cause by me - in my humble opinion it was already damaged, my two floodings just gave the ceiling "the rest". If anyone has a similar experience or an answer, please let me know Thanks
