  1. Thanks for all the replies. We'll be making an appointment with our CAB asap and discuss with them the way forward. Payplan advisor phoned me after I emailed telling him what was going on and he was less than helpful "we don't deal with this, I can't help you". He did say though that it looked like the best thing to do. Council Tax is a major pain, we pay what we can when we can but its never enough. We earn too much to qualify for CTB but don't earn enough to pay the bill and eat, pay rent etc.
  2. The company is Striling Park. My husband spoke to them and they are adamant that if we don't pay the £280 they will arrest his wages. He is going into work tomorrow to talk to his boss and warn him this will very probably happen. The arrestment won't be huge but we have honestly had enough, this is simply the straw that broke the camels back. We know we should never have got into the position in the first place but life happens and things get out of hand - in our case in a huge way. We would go the BK way it has got to that point. I have downloaded the necessary forms and we're r
  3. Hi Ida and thanks for replying. We have no assets, no savings, no shares, no policies. We do have 2 cars but both are old bangers that cost next to nothing and are essential as we live in the sticks. Our debts amount to over £20,000. We have tried to pay them off but can't afford to give a lot to Payplan so we haven't really been making much headway. Can I ask why you regret it? We were going to do it a couple of years ago but decided against it, we now wish we had gone ahead. The stress of all this is unreal and in some ways we are relieved that this Charge for Payment has
  4. Posted this on another board but realised it was in the wrong place. My husband and I can no longer afford to repay our debts. We have been paying Payplan for more years than we care to admit but haven't even begun to make a dent in our debts. Today 2 men came to the door and presented us with a Charge for Payment of Money for the amount of £3482.60. We called the company concerned but they want a payment of £300 before they will consider a repayment plan. We simply do not have this money. I've emailed our Payplan advisor person to ask him how we get the Sequestration ball rolli
  5. Just realised that I've posted in wrong place - sorry about that. Will move it

  7. During the last few weeks we have had a number of letters from BC&W demanding payment of £18 for money they say we owe to Orange as our internet provider. We left Orange at least two years ago and in order to move we needed a code that allowed our new provider to take over. To get the code our account with Orange had to be cleared in full which it was. If it hadn't been cleared they wouldn't have provided the code. BC&W phoned last week and we told them about the payment being made so the code could be released. Fine they said, we will mark that on your file. Yesterday an
  8. Who are Westcot? They are driving us crazy! they claim to have taken over a debt from Blair Oliver and they phone at least once a day, write a couple of times a week and the funniest one was a letter that says "we are unable to contact you by phone as our investigations tell us you are ex-directory". So how are they phoneing if they don't know my number?? We've been ignoring them and have changed the details with Payplan so the payments now go to Westcot but should I send them the letter about phone harrassment?
  9. My husband and I have been considering sequestration for a long time and have lived in the hope that one of our creditors would enable us to self declare but after what feels like 100 years but is really 10 this has never happened. We are threatened on an almost monthly basis of 'further proceedings' but nothing ever happens. One creditor told me that although we owed £5000 it wouldn't be worth their while taking it through the court system and so they would continue to pester us for payment. We are in a DMP but it won't clear until about 2013 if we are lucky and at the moment we ar
  10. Has anyone else had dealing with these people? We owe money to intelligent finance who handed the debt to Blair Oliver. We have a debt managment plan with Payplan and they are paying money to Blair Oliver every month on our behalf. Every month Blair Oliver phone demanding more money, we say no, they get nastier and threaten court action and I tell them to go ahead if they think that is what they need to do. Needless to say nothing ever comes of the court threat. Payplan had advised that we pay them nothing over the phone. Is there anyway I can get them to stop phoning? It h
  11. Thank you for the replies. I was very hesitant to phone the number on an anonymous card! Card now filed in the rubbish pile.
  12. Hello! This is my first 'real' post so please bear with me Today a postcard arrived in with the post addressed to 'The Occupier' with our address but the postcode of our previous home in another part of the country. On the reverse it says; "Message Express Dept Please contact us on 0800 180 4172 Quote Ref ******* Reg Office MCE Portfolio Ltd, The Courtyard Beeding Court, Steyning West Sussex" Who are these people? We haven't lived at the postcode on the card for over 5 years!
  13. Hello everyone, once I've put together my list of questions I'll have a post a mile long but for now this is just to say Hi!
