Believe me mate don't be scared off by your bank.I think every single claim on this forum has won! After taking the Halifax to court via Moneyline I was re-paid all the amount I was claiming plus costs totaling £2407. Follow the procedures on the forum and GO FOR IT! -

Just preparing my charges against A+L.I haven't been able to download the spreadsheet to claim back the Interest. They owe me £532 from 2000 to 2001.I've approx. worked out interest to be £253.87.Does this figure seem to be inline with the 8% or too excessive?

Posted off my letter to my local branch of Halifax on 18th May via registered post.Received reply from the branch manager back this morning. He stated all the usual rubbish about costs being passed onto affected account holders and enclosed a couple of leaflets on charges. He also said "In response to your comments about the Office of Fair Trading report. As a company HBOS has until 31st May to reply and will do so". He also gave me the local branch phone number if I wish to speak to him.Thats a first, usually all inquiries via phone are always delt through the national inquiry line. Needless to say I won't be phoning and will be taking the necessary legal action.

chipsandsausages v halifax
saxongar replied to chipsandsausages's topic in Halifax Bank and Bank of Scotland
This is great news.Congratulations Chipsandsausages! I've only just joined the forum and was reading your thread from the begining.I've dreaded the letters coming through my door from Halifax PLC with 'we have not been able to pay......your account will be debited for £39 within 7 days...etc'. I'm just about to post my letter to them threatening Legal Action. They owe me over £2000 in a 5 year period. You've inspired me to take them on!
