  1. Dear Installspark, Thank you for your reply. Please can you tell me if the PA is a medical doctor or if a medical doctor will be present? How does the PA decide if I need extra councelling or whatever it is I need other than what my coucellor is already suggesting I do? I find this all very confusing as I am working with my councellor to get better and it is a slow process but not without hope. Also, how long does it take for the PA/DWP to write back with the decision? Will they change me then from IB to Jobseekers allowance if they decide I should be looking for work? Th
  2. Dear Installspark, Thank you for your input - this is really helpful. I am attending a WFI due to IB. Yes, I think it is about 8 weeks now that I have been receiving IB. Is there anything I need to take with me? Will they have a file on my medical condition, with the reports from GP and DWP medical assessment? J
  3. Thank you Zamzara. It is only a work focussed interview as far as the letter states, I had the medical assessment 2.5months ago (and a letter from the DWP signing me off for work for a year). What sort of questions do they ask? The letter sounds as though they want to place me in some sort of work (???) or push me into work. I'm confused and anxious about all this.
  4. Hello, I have received a letter from the Jobcentre telling me to attend a Work Focussed Interview. I've been signed off by DWP for upto a year due to depression/anxiety and panic attacks. I've asked a councellor to attend the meeting with me but I have no idea what will be asked? What is the personal assistant going to be asking me and is the personal assistant qualified to determine whether I go back to work or not? How do they determine if I should go back to work and when by? Will they make me go back to work? Also, how does this affect my incapacity benefit? Will it be
  5. Hello, I wonder if anyone could help me with some useful advice. I would like to either have my housing benefit reviewed as I currently pay £105 per week but the housing benefit currently is only £80. What should the arguments be for the council to increase their contibution/benefit towards the rent? If I apply for a discretionary housing payment, again what are they looking at when making the decision? Would appreciate some advice on this. J
  6. Thank you. I am just so worried. Is it a very stressful interview? I am finding this even more stressful. I've rung my councellors and have asked them to write letters for me plus have pulled out the orignal letter from the nhs assessor who advised that i needed councelling. I will take it along to the interview. yes, i will ring the organisation and take someone with me to the interview. thank you for that too. J
  7. I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with depression and anxiety. This has carried on for a long time and has been made worse with the death of my father (I gave the DWP all the relevant paperwork about my father's death) Last time I went to the GP she said I must go for a medical assessment with the DWP. I got the letter in the post this morning and am very worried. What if they decide that I am not depressed? Will I have to pay all the incapacity benefit that I got previously back to them? I've been on incapacity for 29 weeks and I don't have this money to pay them as I haven't worked

  9. I've spoken to them and will be following up with a written letter detailing our telephone conversation along with the payment. This time I got the person's name who I spoke to unlike the last time when I just rang and took it for granted the person would put a note in my file. Thank you very much.
  10. Tiglet, Thanks for answering my post. It's just that the value is for 18 months. As I said before I will pay everything back because I was negligent in not checking my account but this particular council tends to prosecute. They want to meet there targets and I am worried that the person on the other end won't be so understanding. I'm beside myself with worry. I was put off work (and that is why I became redundant) because of stress and depression. This is not helping at all. I have to produce all the relevant information and I will be ringing them to tell them what has happened
  11. I'm going to ring them and have been on the phone getting the reduncancy letter from my previous work, etc. I've also looked at the local council webpage and they prosecute for this sort of thing. I'm so worried. Does this mean I'm going to prison?
  12. Hi, I have got myself into a pickle without being aware of it. 2 years ago I was made redundant and applied for unemployment and housing benefit. when i found work I let unemployment know and rang housing benefit and told them. after that i forgot about it. However, I got made redundant again last year but never bothered with unemployment or housing benefit until I got a letter in the post saying I have to prove that I haven't been working. I'm a very disorganised person - and always get everything set up on debit order etc so that the bills get paid and don't check my statements
