  1. Well that's it now all paid up, Thank You Welcome Finance just banked my final PPI refund cheque for 2025.10. Took a long time and some stress but positive outcome in the end!
  2. Just wanted to update you all, my credit report has now been ammended and yesterday I received a check for £3,818.87 for 2 of my accounts just one more left to go, sent all the information off again today so will start to chase up on Thursday!!!!
  3. It's taken my from July as my account was in such a mess, I bombarded them with letters all registered delivery and calls I also lodged a complaint with the FOS. I've kept a log of all contact I have had with them as this is needed with the FOS. I also sent them copies of statements showing the overpaid amount to make sure they had everything to hand. Everytime they sent me a letter saying thanks for being patient we are dealing with your complaint I send a letter in response reminding them how long they had left to ressolve my complaint. There 8 weeks was up ages ago but I received a cheque last thursday for the overpaid amount. It's hard work getting the default removed but I'm not giving up. Plus they still owe me PPI from 2 other account but this is my main battle at the moment. Hope this helps.
  4. I want to claim compensation from Welcome as due to them seriously messing up my account I have paid extra APR on my new car in fact my last two cars. My account was settled in June 2007 but welcome messed about so much that they said I owed £512 on my account which I paid half has requested and they placed a default on my account in August 2009 for the rest. At the moment the FOS are involved and Welcome have repaid the amount I have over paid but have not removed my default. I've be turned down for several things and have paid extra for the 2 cars I've had since 2007. How would I claim compenstation?

Could someone have a look at my letter please: I am writing in response to your letter dated 12th October 2009, with regards the insurance sold with my HP Agreement.Your reference is ******** I do not feel your letter has offered a satisfactory justification that my policy was sold fairly, reasonably and within my best interests so I request that you look into my complaint again. With reference to your letter "I would like to take this opportunity to point out that your loan agreement pre-dates the regulation of our business by the Financial Services Authority, and therefore the principles you seek to rely on are not applicable. I would like to take this opportunity to point out that your loan agreement pre-dates the regulation of our business by the Financial Services Authority, and therefore the principles you seek to rely on are not applicable” In response to this to could I remind you that Welcome Finance were covered by the FOS from 23/02/2003 and my HP agreement was taken out in 17/09/03 and I lodged my first complaint regarding PPI 11/05/2006 as my account notes will verify. I would also like to draw to your attention your remark in my letter "Our records show that you have paid for and enjoyed the benefits of the purchased insurance for the term of its respective existence” Could you please explain to me how I have `enjoyed’ the benefits of PPI insurance I find this comment very patronizing at the least. Could I also bring to your attention that I have all my documents from all my accounts via my SAR nowhere in these documents for account number ******** are a statement of Needs and Demands which is a legal requirement for loan agreements. I have no knowledge of filling this in and I clearly remember being told where to sign and that if I didn’t take these insurances I wouldn’t get the car. Due to this I would also like to mention the Limitation Act 1980 section 32 Postponement of limitation period in case of fraud, concealment or mistake, I do believe that the salesman `Chris' led me to believe that if I did not take these insurances then I wouldn’t get finance and clearly concealed the fact that these insurances were optional. I have filed a complaint with the FOS my reference number *********** and I will be sending copies of your last letter and this response to be added to my complaint. Yours faithfully,

  7. LETTER BEFORE ACTION Dear Sir/Madam, ACCOUNT NUMBER: xxxxxxxxx You have failed to respond to my letter of the [XXXXXXX - date of preliminary letter] and its enclosed schedule. If you do not remove the default and late payment entries from my credit file within 14 days I shall issue proceedings in the County Court and without any further notice to you. How do I word the bit about compensation as my account has been cleared from June 2007 and they have just defaulted my account August 09. If this had been sorted out in 2007 I would have clearly got a better apr for my car agreement.

  9. Sorry I posted this in the wrong place last time. Does anyone have a template letter for getting a default and late payments removed off my credit report. My account has been paid in full since June 2007 but due to some idiot at welcome seriously messing my account up I have just recieved default, they are repaying the amount they owe back to me but there dragging there feet getting my credit report cleaned up. I would like a letter that says they have a set amount of time to do this as I keep getting told there is a back log for the credit agencies and this could take several months, this is having an awful effect on my credit rating.   10. Does anyone have a template letter for getting a default remove off my credit report. My account has been paid in full since 2007 but due to some idiot at welcome seriously messing my account up I now have a default, they are repaying the amount I have paid back to me but there dragging there feet getting my credit report cleaned up. I would like a letter that says they have a set amount of time to do this as I keep getting told there is a back log for the credit agencies and this could take several months. Also does anyone know if it's possible to get London Scottish to change details on my credit report too. I know they are no longer trading but my account shows lots of late payments after it was paid off..... Makes me so mad!!!
  11. Yes mine says Final Response but came on it's own no leaflets included. I've already lodged this with the FOS but I'm waiting to hear back from them did that end of August.
  12. Where do we need to go from here then, what response do we need to write back to Welcome?
