My worry is that the previous owner has used this telephone number when obtaining credit more recently - as MH now have a different address linked to this phone number but before (say 8 years ago) I'm pretty sure MH posted something to this address .. (Suspect previous owner left quite a few debts...and might be a bit dodgy)

It was the number when we moved it - and the name of person they were trying to contact is the previous owner... So it is 12 years...

And I think I might have just posted this in the wrong sub forum - damn - don't know what to do about that or how I managed it ...sorry

I bought this house 12 years ago. I don't have contact details for previous owner. After we moved in we did get a few letters from different companies - I suspect they were debts but sent them back no longer at this address... After a year or so we started getting frequent calls (one or two a week) for previous owner and pretty sure something in the post too from Mackenzie Hall. I told them she didn't live here anymore and in the end sent them an email too and asking them to stop harassing me ... Silence for years. Until last week I got a message on my answer phone for previous owner from Mackenzie Hall - phoned them and told them the above.. .they said they would take me off their list . ..great - could I confirm my address . ..as I start telling them they said ah that isn't the address we have...we will take you off. Now I'm wondering if previous owner has used this phone number more recently on some credit arrangement?.. ..and do I need to be worried about that? Planning on moving soon and taking this number with me . ..but not keen if it is linked to something dodgy... Any thoughts ....

Just out of interest .... Have just got a ticket (civil penalty charge) from Town and country parking at a local shopping centre....for staying longer than 1 hour (first hour parking is free and then it is £1 for second hour) We went to lunch and forgot the time and was according to my timing about 5 min late back to the car...to find a ticket. Very annoying but... Usually I check the time on the machine/ticket matches my watch...but this time my (7 yo) daugher got it and I didn't. I did do a time check just after I left the car of 13.35. Which fits in with ... As soon as we arrived I made a mobile call (very distressing -there was an obviously injured but alive rabbit on a slip road coming off the Tay Road Bridge ...I couldn't stop so I phoned the Bridge Control to tell them...they knew about it and it had been there for hours and no-one ..SSPCA included would touch it/put it out of its misery...Sorry back to subject )...the time of this call was 13.22, then my toddler was alsleep -so I messed around a bit with a pram and trying to wake her up by this time my elder daughter and her dad had wandered off ... then we got the ticket... Now according to this ticket -I must have got it at 13.16....so the time on the machine was wrong...right? But then I checked the machine and it matched my watch...all I can assume is someone had changed the time on the machine ...the same person handing out the tickets???? Or the time on the ticket was different to that on the machine??? According to the ticket the attendent waited for 10 mins before issuing the parking charge...and I was 25 mins over! Anyone else noticed the time on the ticket dispensing machines changing? Or the time being quite different from real time? After my battle with Lidl/TPS I'm not going to pay (£60 -reduced to £30 for prompt payment)...I guess if they really insist I might pay the £1 ...

Hi..regarding post no 43 Long time no post... Just thought I should let you know how I am getting on. Received last letter regarding Lidl parking charges at the end of June. These were from a debt recovery co...who were threatening to send an Outside field agent to my house if I didn't pay up within three days. I sent the draft reply from the sticky -the debt is in dispute and warning about harrassment ...haven't heard from them since...have been away so there is always the chance that they have been here when I wasn't ...but if they did they didn't leave a card or anything... Thanks to everyone for their help and advice Will keep you posted if I hear anything else...have now got a problem with another PPC...but will start a new thread about it

laguna - sorry I should have asked how your dad got on? Did he pay or contest? I sent more or less Barnsley boy's letter by registered delivery earlier this week...I'll repost when/if I get a reply..

Thanks Barnsley Boy ...I'm glad you don't think I'm a troll - I don't think I'd have the courage to carry on with this without support... I am just going to send one letter (more or less cut and paste of yours!) for all four charges and see what happens ... The company involved is TPS parking Solutions Ltd (not Parking eye) and I will send the letter tomorrow...unless anyone has any more advice...

Thanks to lamma and pin1onu... I am going down the I wasn't driving path...for now. Do you guys think I need to treat each charge individually or do one letter to cover all? ...and should I even do the letters?....I think mine is a bit like the newspaper article about the woman who won in court against Excel...does anyone know exactly what she did? The 14 days for the first one is up on the 8th May ... Barnsley boy and Geronimoman..I hope you don't think I'm a troll (I'm guessing this means someone pretending to be something they are not) I was a bit worried to repost but I kind of need all the support this site can offer....the only reason I said I thought my partner should pay up for the first one is because I warned him to be careful...and he annoyed me by telling me I was being stupid ...I did think he might get one and that would teach him a lesson but not four. We don't share our money - so I wouldn't be putting myself out to contest one for him in the circumstances (but probably would if it was my money!) - but I object to the way they have been really sneaky... And he was in my car -he has his own but the baby seat is in mine- in fact I think it is time to invest in an extra seat (he has also put a dent in my car and he is using all my petrol at the moment grrrrrrr...)

Hi - I've read all the posts here and on other sites with interest...but I'm not sure where I stand -feeling a bit daunted. My partner has just received 4 parking charge notices from a PPC on a Lidl carpark in Scotland. I should explain that he was driving my car so the notices have been sent to me as the registered keeper. If he pays within 14 days the charge per ticket will be £45 otherwise it will be £70 with an addition charge of £40 for administration if payment isn't received within 28days (yep that's a minimum of £180 and a possible £440). Until recently he had a small restaurant and used to shop at LIdl a couple of times a day. He was under the impression that they wouldn’t ticket him or would withdraw the tickets because he was such a good customer…not realizing it was a separate company handing out the tickets…He started parking there and taking our baby into the town and then shopping at Lidl for dinner (or maybe it was withdrawal!!) before coming home… I know it was ‘wrong’ but he has literally spent thousands with them…. They don’t give out tickets but use reg plate recognition of the car driving in and then out… so it was a week before we got the first one and knew he had a problem…and by then he had parked there 3 more times…(and they came much more quickly!) He phoned them when he got the first one – he can’t remember exactly what was said or if the call was recorded –basically he told them he spent a fortune with Lidl. In reply he got sent copies of the CCTV image of the car driving in and out. If it was one and it was instant (a ticket) I would feel like it served him right and he would pay but the way they have done this is like a deliberate way of trying to make as much money as possible… So my questions are…I’m in Scotland –so is anyone sure yet if the law is the same? Do I treat each ticket individually or pool them all together? I get the impression that the parking comps are more likely to take people to court to stop people trying to get out of paying. Will they be more likely to try and take me to court because there is more money at stake? I can quite honestly tell them I wasn’t driving...
