Just to be on the safe side, can you say if this bay is on a road? Next question, can return to this location and take some pics of the location of this bay, in relation to the road where its situated. Also take as many pics of the white lines making this bay, with particular emphasis on the end marking of the bay and any sign that should be visible about the use of this bay. If this is a single bay then there should be sign on a pole at the side of it, Pics are required of the end markings of this bay taken at both ends and what if anything is written on the outside edge of this bay. Please ensure that the pictures you take are clear, and also if poss take a view of the outside of the bay down to its ending. There are councils that make up thier own designs on parking bays.

As a Train guard with over 25 years service, one of my pet hates are feet on seats and passengers putting bags/cases on seats when people are standing. If you child did this, he ought to be punished, as I personally do not like sitting on seats made filthy by muck off other peoples footware.
