  1. Just make sure you include the full amount at the Moneyclaim stage and have the figures to back it up.
  2. I think the issue here might be that you have asked them to take the money for the DPA from your account or paid with a cheque from your account. In this case you will need to send them a PO or other form of payment before they will go ahead.
  3. It's amazing that they expect you to pay for their mistakes - and a goodwill gesture for half the amount caused by their incompetence - I've got a gesture for them! :o
  4. Well done - keep reading the threads here, especially all those marked 'PAID IN FULL' for all the encouragement you need!
  5. As the accounts are both with the same bank, only one payment is required.
  6. Stick with - it will be worthwhile. Good luck! ;-)
  7. Sorry but this is a bit confused. I assume that you are looking for guidance after being told that they think the charges are fair and THEY have closed you account. What letters have you sent them so far? Are you sticking to the step by step guide in the FAQs on this site?
  8. Still no sign of the refund, and don't know how to check status of claim (Form N1). Starting on the wife's credit card next.
  9. And interest rates that 'are high to cover the cost of fraud' are still not coming down...
  10. Ahhh... 'transparent' - as in 'clear as mud'! It's commercially sensitive because they don't want you to know just how small the real amount is...!
  11. Looks good. Did you pay anything when you made your original requests, and has it been cashed? If so the 40 days runs from that date, rather than the receipt of this letter.
  12. When I made my claim I sent the Prelim letter whilst awaiting the DPA stuff to come back as I had enough data to get it kicked off. When it gets to LBA time you can always amend the total claimed in the light of information received. Hope this helps.
  13. You will get the information, but the time they take is variable. See this thread - http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=11227
  14. You can send a copy of the spreadsheet (excluding the 8% interest) to show the breakdown of what you are claiming.
  15. Use the second (enhanced) spreadsheet to calculate the interest that was deducted from your account due to these charges - this is claimable from the beginning. It will also calculate the 8% interest (due to loss of access to the moneys claimed), but this doesn't get claimed until you file your N1/Moneyclaim.
  16. This comes under the general umbrella of unlawful bank charges. :o
  17. Cheers - I've been checking every couple of hours during the day, especially after I saw your dates were the same as mine!
  18. I think Halif*x send them in batches of 4 or 5 sheets per envelope as there is a risk of a bulk package coming apart in the post - I've seen mention of this happening in early claims on here. That would create a massive ID fraud risk. My Halif*x statements came in about 28 envelopes, whereas my wife's HFX VISA statements came in one large envelope.
  19. Looks good to me - I used 'from when the account was opened' or words to that effect and the whole pile arrived right back into the 90's!
  20. Don't expect much of a direct response - I filed about a week ago and haven't heard anything yet. On another thread someone who filed the same day as me has had their claim settled by HFX today, so each one is different. It's coming, got to be patient... .......
  21. I put a summary of the claim in here and put the full text on the back of the form and attached a printout of the charges.
  22. I thought I'd read somewhere that ATMs used the stripe still - I might be wrong though.
  23. The quick way to get a C&S card - enter your PIN incorrectly three times. The card will be PIN blocked and only work with a signature. This happened to me (admittedly prior to 14th Feb) when I forgot the PIN. I'm not certain if it is the case now though.
  24. Excellent news! I filed the same day as you - here's hoping mine's not too far behind!! How did you get notified?
