  1. Please, feel free. Every little helps:p
  2. I was under the impression that there was a cooling off period and this still applies on renewal. My building and contents insurance was sold to me at a low cost as a duel insurance, and like most people I get lazy and accept auto renewal most of the time. This year at renewal time I realised that the annual premium had increased on average by £100 per annum since 2002. When I read the T&C's it turned out that I had the right to cancel within 14 days of renewal with any paid premiums returned. Just as an aside, whilst reading said T&C's I found that I could claim £25 a day for jury service which I had done in June of last year, so I made sure I claimed before cancelling...good times:)
  3. So any model agencies in any other part of the UK is disreputable are they?
  4. Tesco's today, I wanted some cheese and thought I would check prices rather than just pick up a block and pay as I normally would, now my head hurts 200 gr Cathedral City mature (cracker size) £1.48 *2 = 400 gr @£2.96:D 200 gr Cathedral City mature (normal size) £2.06 *2 =400 gr @£4.12:???: 400 gr Cathedral City Mature @£4.42:eek:
  5. Thanks for your reply Conniff. I assume that the red highlight suggests that it wasn't compulsary at the time so they can charge for it to be included.
  6. I had a home information pack commisioned 9 months ago (£250) by my estate agent, they have now written to me to say that it is compulsary from 01.10.08 for sellers to have an energy performance certificate in the pack, and they want a further £50+vat. does any one know if the pack should have had the EPC originally? The estate agent say they will not be able to market my property beyond 01.10.08 if I don't pay for a EPC. All I can find on the official Gov' site is that it is compulsary for the pack to include the EPC.
  7. since when were students barred from doing part time work ...just a guess, not beyond the realms of possibility
  8. Please explain how somebody inviting you to park on their drive exposes them as a criminal? You can park on my drive any time you like, provided you don't overstay your welcome, (5 min's) after that you would owe me £1000 reduced to £500 if payed within 5 days. Hey my drive my rules, or laws as you would have us believe.
  9. [quote=Morris miner; unbelievable... im not replying to you again. Just as we say, 5 or 6 letters and you, sorry, they (ppc's) give up. And stop calling them fines!
  10. I assume Luke123456 meant that if Tfl have proof of location then the op shouldn't need to.
  11. I haven't had any experience of these people myself, other than what I have read on this site, but I was interested to see these articles in the Liverpool Echo. I was amazed at the journalist helping to perpetuate the myth that these people can issue "fines" and wonder how they can get away with advertising their excessive charges. Burger off! 12. Thanks for the reponse, I had a letter from them to say there was a problem with verification. The recorded message on the phone says that if it takes longer than 14 days to process, then interest will be paid from the 15th day.
  13. I took out an ISA with Barclays Bank on 04.04.08. I just checked my current account (different bank) and the cheque still hasn't been cashed. My question is, is it reasonable to any claim for compo with regard to lost interest as it is calculated daily? I think a month and still counting is quite excessive, what do others think?
  14. Hi G&M thanks for your reply I'm a tad confused, elswhere on the forum I have read that lines have to conform otherwise there is no offence. your reply says it's a technicality and a gamble. Can anyone advise on the odds please as I only have a few days left to decide what to do???:?
  15. Hi, I spent all day yesterday reading all 39 pages of this thread hoping to find the answers to my questionsbut I'm afraid I am going to have to ask them anyway. can someone tell me if a FPN has to have date of issue? mine just has On dd/mm/yyyy from hh/mm to (blank) in location offence code 018 waiting in length of road where prohibited make xxxxx modelxxxx colourxxxx signed xxxx No xxxx when dyl's are accompanied by stripes on the kerb does it matter that there is no T-bar at the end? Just to finish, how can I find out which LA's operate the decriminilised system? as I understand Liverpool does but Knowsley is where I got my FPN. Thanks Great forum
  16. Hi guys I just joined after reading quite a few very interesting threads. I would like to ask for some clarifation on a couple of points. I unfortunatley recieved a fixed penalty for "parking where it is prohibited" At first I thought, well you should not have parked there! but then I stumbled upon this wonderful forum. First of all I was parked on double yellow lines, and if I can deal with the FPN. It says Merseyside police at the top and refers to (non-endorsable offence - only has one time (16:50) (to box is blank). offence code 018. The only options on the ticket are pay the ticket to HMCS within 28 days or go to court. is this correct? The second thing I would like to ask is, as I have read on other threads the yellow lines have to be as prescibed but where I was parked there is no T bar at the end. What I did notice though is that there are also stripes on the curbside. are these counted as a seperate sign and so enforcable or should I appeal as there is no T bar. By the way issue date was 12.03.08. Sorry if seems a bit garbled but I'm sure I'll get better with my postings in time. Thanks in anticipation.
