  1. the more i think about this the more worked up I am getting. I have taken pictures of the faults and screen shots etc, and i am worried we're gonna end up with no computer and no monies returned, what do I do?
  2. Just wondering also, what would happen if I returned the computer (which i have had a day!) and they kept the computer and DIDN'T refund my money? How would I go on with that?
  3. I really need to know whether we are entitled to ask for our money back as it is not the computer specs we believed we were getting, therefore we have been sold an item that differs to what we should have got. We only got this yesterday, so surely there is some law or rights that allow us to return it for a complete refund.
  4. The option that you are referring to is the power saving one which has been changed for highest performance so it shouldn't be limiting cpu speed and plus, i have benched the cpu to see if this is th case and it is ony returning a maximum of 1.2 ghz back
  5. Hi We ordered a computer on the 29th July from Eclipse computers. It was made to our specifications. First we had to wait for a graphics card that wasn't in stock. Then there was a problem with the motherboard. Then it needed a different power supply. We then got a phone call to say it was being shipped Later that evening we got a call to say actually the monitor you want isn't in stock. The computer arrived yesterday (friday), and we have encountered problems with it. Basically its not running at the speeds it should be (we paid for 3Ghz but its running at half that speed.) it looks like a configuration problem, like its not been set up properly. My partner rang them to say we were goin to send it back as its not right, and they said we could return it and if it was a hardware problem they would do what was necessary but if it was a software issue, then we would be looking at an £80 charge for labour, plus costs to return it. However, the quality control thing that came with the computer states that all this was tested prior to sending and it was working to specification, which is clearly not the case. They are saying we are not entitled to a refund, I was just wondering where we stood in terms of rights. Please can someone help?
  6. Hi thanks for the reply I have screen shot the windows for printing and I have drafted up a letter. My concerns are that she wasprivvy to information he would never have got from myself, such as an address etc. He never sees his daughter and him being aware of our whereabouts is a potential threat now to my child. The history between myself and mr y is really complicated, and although i cannot prove that any information regarding myself or my daughter has been passed on, they cant prove it hasnt. So now i have to take steps to secure my property more all because of this one thing. It is doubtful that they knew each other prior to this, in which case i wonder how 2 people speaking via telephone would know what each other would look like in order to 'add as a friend' on facebook. Therefore they must have exchanged email addresses etc. I couldnt care less if they were friends, but the fact that she is a civil service case worker specifically on our case with such detailed private information regarding my family, having a 'realtionship' other than that of a professional one, i naturally question the motives of either party. Does anyone know who i should write to?
  7. I am so livid right now so please bare with me as i try to explain. I have a child support claim which is currently active. I have a case worker, miss x. I have been on facebook today, search for my ex partner, mr y. found him there and viewed his friends list. he had 4. one of them, same name as miss x. curiously i viewed miss x's profile. to my horror it is our child support case worker. she has dealt with our case for at least 6 months, contacting us about the case. she has all my information, information mr y does not have. 2 questions, first of all, it is unlikely however not impossible that miss x and mr y where friends or known to each other prior to the csa case. in this case, should she have had no dealings with the case? 2nd of all, if they only became accustomed to each other because of our ongoing case, should she be allowed to have contact with him outside of work? she has done all our assessments, messed up my payments, changed payment schedules etc for our daughter. isnt this a breach of data protection? I am not impressed that she has so much information regarding myself and my child (which mr y does not see and neither does he have my address etc), and what can i do about it? Please please please advise i am going out of my head.
  8. Aarghhh!! My husband is off sick. He is the only income coming in. He is receiving S.S.P. We have been awarded some help provisionally from H.B/CTB. Income support have refused us, on this basis: For the tax year 2006-2007, my DH was employed by a different company, where he did overtime frequently, so the earnings for this period were above the amount to receive Working Tax Credits. He then changed jobs, so from the period April 2007-2008, the amount earned is significantly different. We have been awarded WTC now, and get £22.00 p/w HOWEVER... Tax Credits have actually awarded more than this and are holding back almost a thousand pounds so they don't over pay us. Even though we are NOT physically in receipt of this money, I.S said it has been awarded so we are therefore not entitled, as according to the WTC award, we are entitled to something stupid like £22.00 per day. But we are struggling. We are a family of 4! We wont have monies released from TC until april, and then I ask, seeing as they owe us that money, will they pay it us in a lump sum, or just extra each week? They cant tell us that apparantly. What, if anything can we do?
  9. I recently applied for DLA for my daughter, however it was refused on the grounds that she doesn't receive different care to any other child her age. I obviously disagree, as I have another chid and so I know the level of care needed is very different. I am not sure exactly how I filled the form in to make them think that, I think that its possible when it asked 'how many minutes does this take' i answered it as in each time, not the entire day, so it could look like thats all we do. Am i better to re-apply in a month or so? As now I have missed the time frame to have them look at the decision again. Also, I have been told that when filling in the form I should do it as if it was the worst she can get. Is this right? I did ask the woman at DLA, and she said er no, its the care she needs all the time. But many people have said its not. Any advise, much appreciated Many Thanks Donna
  10. Hi My husband has been off sick since christmas, and is waiting to see a specialist. First of all, a member from H.R and his line manager turned up at our home, completely unannounced to 'see how he was'. Clearly they know he is not well hence the doctor signing him off sick (and trust me, he would be going to work for me if he wasnt!) He has received a letter saying that he is invited to attend a meeting with the HR woman and his line manager to 'discuss' his current situation (I have a feeling they are looking at finishing him personally). However, there is nothing in his handbook which states he must or mustn't attend, there is nothing in the letter to say he is allowed anyone with him as a witness etc. He isn't well enough to work, so he isn't well enough to go in and have meetings either. Does he have to go to the meeting? Also, they want him to have a medical by an independent source, but he is moaning about that, because he is sick of doctors at the moment, and as he says, they are welcome to communicate with his GP, because he hasn't just seen the same one, he has seen about 5 at the surgery, who have all said the same thing. Many Thanks Donna
  11. Hi Everyone I'd just like to introduce myself to the site. I'm Donna, 26, living with my husband and our children. You'll usually find me stressing somewhere trying to find out as much information on things as I possibly can. I have had my fair share of ''heroes'' telling me what I can and can't do. I have major issues with Lowell Group *rolls eyes* who tell me their client doesn't have to provide an S.A.R and they don't endorse the findings by the OFT. I dream of someone wiping the entire computer system that holds financial information, so everyone can start afresh. That would be the perfect world wouldn't it? So now i have introduced myself, its time to get posting.... Many Thanks Donna
