  1. Hey guys, i got my money. Instead of putting the money back into the paypal account, it went onto my the HSBC credit card. Oh well. Thanks for your help guys. They will take the money off me if they can prove i got the laptop, which is highly unlikely as the guy ran away and is wanted by the FBI. I learnt my lesson. Is there anyway to pay off my barclaycard bill off with my HSBC credit card?
  2. hey guys, got a call from HSBC today about the chargeback, couldnt get back home in time to ring back, i will do tomorrow at 9am and update the info. I sent off the letter today with the other form, pretty bad timing. I hope they have good news for me, it was definetly was the Indian call center. Im dreading ringing them back tomorrow.
  3. Thanks guys, I will post back once I get a reply.
  4. Should I write that in the letter I got from them asking for reciepts and transactions again? That way they will open up and see its linked to the case.
  5. No, no one has called me or written back to me about anything, i have left messages to HSBC to ring me back on updates but nothing. This is a pretty big case cause the fraud value is into 100k, I cant believe HSBC havent rang me.
  6. sorry about the link - i filed the chargeback on 11th of Feb. I rang them on the 8th of Feb, I got a funny feeling they dont know what they are doing.
  7. Hey Bigmac, thanks for reply, check out my thread in the HSBC section. I really could do with some help.
  8. Hi, i brought a laptop off paypal in Oct, payed via a HSBC credit card, long story short, the guy has a done a runner, with mine money and another 30 people. Long investigation found he was doing fine until the month i payed him (unlucky!!). He had a job and everything, something must have happened and now he has run away, we got the Canadian Police and FBI looking for him. I filed a chargeback with HSBC on the matter, I spoke to a lady in India, i think, and she sent me out a form and told me to write a letter as well to a HSBC credit card address, i sent out both letters (recorded delivery), i rang them up 5 days laters, they acknowledged I sent them, they scanned them in and told me they were investigating. I get a letter from the same the lady I spoke to the first time, asking for my date of purchase and evidence of reciepts. I had already sent out 12 pages of reciepts and emails (hardcopy) to her. I rang them up again and this time an american man answered and wrote a memo to the chargeback team and said the evidence had already been given. What the hell is going on?? I am so confused, have they cocked up? For information on the background to the laptop [problem] (edited) dont post on their forum, he reads it reguarly. Please help, as others who filed a chargeback got back their money within 3 days.
