  1. Royal mail also "lost" my DPA request,I also used to work for Royal Mail I think the problem is with the sorting machines and recorded are only classed as normal mail they are bundled together with 1st and 2nd class mail during the automated machine sorting ,therefore the code sorted bundles are not sorted by a human, just delivered by one!! I have worked out that if you sent your letter sandwiched between 2 slabs of polystrene it cant go through the machines so is sorted by hand and would only cost an extra 50p I did however send a copy via email too on the same day and get a response within 24 hours Maybe the mods could have an thread for email and Fax numbers for CC and Banks
  2. I would call Fiat directly Tell them about the service you've recieved from the dealer you could also ask if the could sent an engineer to check out the mpg and the repairs carried out by your dealer You could also suggest you will be writng to some of the car mags Auto Express What Car etc

  7. Hi All Sent off my DPA request by email and letter on 11th May recieved an email from Mr Bowden on 12th saying that he had passed to the relevant department I gave them permission to deduct £10.00 from my account (nothing has been taken except £105.00 in charges!!!!) Now that deadline is looming what can I do to stir up a hornets nest, I have worked out through my statements and online they have taken £2957 in charges Any one have any thoughts on how to proceed? Do I send a Preliminary approach for repayment and ignore the fact they haven't replied or do I send Data Protection Act - Non-Compliance letter or infact both Any views would be welcomed and yes I have read other threads but it doesn't seem clear cut

  16. Hi I think the site your refering to is www.paypalsucks.com some very interesting reading I use Paypal for Ebay and 3 websites and in 3 years have had only 6 transactions reversed 5 overseas (NO POD) and one fraudulent card I have also found that unlike banks you can get to talk to the organ grinder when the need arises unless you get there India Call centre in which case I hang up and redail later I have also recieving 2 sums total £189.00 returned by paypal as goods did not arrive With regards to rip off charges I have found that Im better off with Paypal than paying Merchant Services £25.00 MTH +2.1% as well as GAteway £26.00 MTH Again I think its down to choice Nochex or Paypal Hope this helps
  17. I sell about 2500 items per year on Ebay I send them all by recorded delivery (as per paypals seller policy!!) just worked that out to £1700.00 phew! Most do arrive within the week but I have a quite a few disappear I provide buyer with tracking numbers etc which are no good because they are only tracked once they have been signed for:evil: This makes me out to be a liar I think there should be room for improvement ie 1st scan once you hand over your parcel at least it would prove to the buyer that you had furfilled your obligation Until recently RM did not offer copies of signatures online Around Xmas time I had 7 packets "go missing" according to RM they had been delivered the customers disputed this, contacting RM they told me to send a cheque for £3.00 for each one to provide a copy signature WHAT A CHEEK Until other companys can complete with RM on price for sub 2kg parcels it look like we will be stuck with them
  18. It has to happen at some point judging by the amount of claims going on, I did find something interesting though whilst trawling the net I have 2 accounts at LLoyds, Business Account and a Basic Bank account according to the FSA website on basic bank accounts Lloyds do not charge for unpaid direct debits http://http://66.249.93.104/search?q=cache:ajaXd6S5UekJ:www.fsa.gov.uk/consumer/pdfs/bank_account.pdf+fsa+basic+bank+accounts&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1 With a bit of luck this will help my case:)
  19. I have been having conversations lately with my friendly business manager (not) If I put in a complaint he would look at last 6 months charges(how genorous!!!!) This was proir to finding this wonderful site. Whilst he agreed that charges were unfair he said it was the banks policy to recover there costs I asked him to breakdown the costs needless to say he couldn't as these were set by the bank not him It would appear that dependant on how your account is set up,there can be manual intervention as he gets a daily list of transactions which would exceed your limit at his discretion they would be paid or returned. However judging by the charges I have been charged mine are automated. One point I did raise which stopped him dead in his tracks was if a DD was due to be paid and there were insuffient funds and it was returned (automatically)I would be charged £35.00 however if I went to the supermarket and bought goods and went to pay by debit card and it was declined why do the bank not charge me £35.00 for this?? after all its the same process After a long pause he did not have an answer I have told him I intend to reclaim all of my unfair charges and had help to do so,he then offered to review 12 months charges obviousley word is getting around(hehe) I have today sent LTSB DAP for both accounts my estamate £1300 and £3000 excl interest also Monument £400+ and Barclaycard £200+ will leave Capital One for now Has anyone had Credits card accounts closed once letters started flying? Has anyone lost a case yet?
