  1. I have agreed a payment plan with them, via email and very easily.

    Against a balance of £520 (£400 loan + £120 Interest/renewal) I offered £50.

They wanted 3 x £173.33, which was crazy, if I could not afford £120 roll over then I could not afford £173.33 even if it was to reduce capital.

I revised offer to £75 and they said £86.66 over 6 months which I accepted.

I will increase the payment when my situation improves.

Quite straight to deal with, I am sure they are getting a lot of defaults now but if you do the hard work for them and make contact they wil;l help if they can.

    And maybe they wont help!

i had a loan of £300 with uncle buck, paid £390 back same day then cancelled DD.

Same day they put £200 back in my bank and want £290 back, i did not even apply for a new £200, and they also set a DD back up without my knowledge.

Not exactly straight to deal with, they insist i owe them full whack and i DID apply for it.

No i did not apply, never asked either, in fact, they wanted £50 a month then £390 to settle when i was ready, i rang and told them to take the whole £390, which they did, its on my statements, but where did the £200 application come from.

I have said ill give them the £200 when they have explained about the DD, but they want charges and all.

  2. Hi i can help with some input here as im about to start a dispute with them if possible.

My missus has bought a plasma tv off Perfect Home, which since getting it in Sept 08 has been replaced 5 times, but the thing got my goat up, besides that, is at christmas she bought me a Stereo from Perfect Home as well, and i found the agreement and its shocking.

The price of the Stereo is £263 which with £72 interest i was not bothered with that aspect and it worked out £3.24 for 104 weeks, but then i noticed a Fixed Sum Agreement for £2.38 for 104 weeks, and a TAD agreement for £1.14 for 104 weeks, total payable works out about £700.

My missus did not have a clue what she was signing for, but it seems the fixed sum agreement is for protection and is on a separate agreement, as for TAD, I haven't a clue.

So far all payments are up to date, so no probs there but, does anyone know if you can challenge this fixed sum agreement and TAD agreement.

Please dont shop there, i went mad at her indoors, rip off, total rip off.

  4. Hi Guys.

Im posting to get advice to help a friend if anyone can help.

My friend took a tv on credit back in 1997 or there about, he cant remember when exactly.

He has been paying TBI £5 a month since 2001, but they never ever sent him proof of :?debt and he had no idea till now they should have.

With him paying this for so long, is there any way of challenging this.

He has £653 to pay, and although they said they would freeze interest at the time, every so often in the statements they send him, they have added a one off £10.73 interest payment, about 3 times in all in the last year, and every six months they add on a further £5 for what they call an ALLPAY FEE.

Anyone please advise what to do. Thanks

  5. it will be back dont worry. David gregory done a great job but he has personal things to do and he cant run the site at the same time. However he is looking for a buyer. 6. The wife has an outstanding debt with JD Williams/ that is being paid off through a debt management plan (Payplan). She received a Credit Account Statement from JD Williams/Reliable this morning which says she is being charged an APR of 39.9% on the balance, at this rate the debt will keep on increasing with no hope of ever paying it off.

    What should we do?

Hi mate, i'm in exactly the same boat with these to cos of my missus as well.

I have sent a CCA request off, to which Reliable Collections sent me a copy of T& Cs, and stated that they dont need to send the original

so i then sent a letter asking for the copy that bears my signature.

Whatever you do dont sign any letters just print your name.

Im sure someone may come up with a template letter for you to use

  7. hiya peeps

well the muppet corporation have passed my acount to apex debt management, albeit illegaly as far as i am concerned.

because the account is in dispute surely they cannot sell the "debt".

trading standards are dealing with it on my behalf so we will have to wait and see.

the last time apex rang me the rude lady asked when i was going to make a payment to start and clear the balance of wait for it £19500.

for a £6000 car of which i have already paid them £10500.hahaha

    i dont think so!!!!!!!

its been quiet for the last 4 months.

    i wonder............

    Keep it up WVM,

I am close to serving Court Papers on them... Happy Days.

I wonder seeing as the rest of TFC staff will need a job soon, if there good friend above can get them jobs, the elephants need cleaning out regularly, and im sure Mr Nick (one day ill pop my) Cherry, would be great in the Weasel enclosure

  8. Hi Nish40, good bit to add, as i am of same opinion as you, i actually signed nothing!! I have also got London Scottish clowns saying that as it's a ctalogue alleged debt with them ( for something else ) then under law the CCA does not apply to the alleged debt, lol, i sent off the account in dispute and i have heard nothing else! All have nothing better to do, Lowells are amazing, :p lmao, keep sending me account can be cleared at huge discount, :p my am i going to be busy !!! :D lol

    Tigs x

Catalogues love to pretend they dont need signed Agreements, but this little snippet is something caught my eye on this forum.

Apparantly it was an email Tiglet received from MOTA.

    It's as Follows:

"I confirm that our members are bound by the Consumer Credit Act."

If you look on their website, you will see that they also specifically refer to the CCA in regards to their codes of practice.

There is a list of members on the site, who have obviously joined in part for the credibility belonging to this association gives.

Therefore, a little more ammunition for those of us being told they do not need to provide CCA's.

If they can't provide a CCA when properly requested, then it's not the consumers fault.

  9. Not too sure about the meter readings, but they have definately said they have on file the date i left.

I hate the way they sent a collector out of the blue.

I'm writing again, to state that i have proof if needed, but its up to them to sort it with British Gas lol, i have my proof, and they have bought the debt so they needn't think they are getting help off me heh heh

  10. UPDATE.....

Got a letter back off Robberson Way, stating 2 meter readings, one from 27th June 2007 (opening reading), and one from October 31st 2007 (quarterly reading).

Thing is, i left the property in the Middle of August 2007, and British Gas were notified by both me, and the Housing Agency.

So the bill is not accurate as someone else moved in after i left, and i have been billed with their usage, as British Gas have not changed the name on the account on the day i left.

I asked Robberson, to prove i owed the money for this reason, but they have just sent meter readings, not looked into it at all, just holding me responsible for a period i was not there.

    Anyone help????? please

Anyone please????????? im going to write back asap. Thanks

  11. Hi folks thought I would update you. We again have had nothing in writing from either the bank, the receiver or anyone. However tonight a thug turned up on the doorstep demanding we move our own car and hand over the keys to the leased jaguar as he was a collection agent. We explained the dispute and refused to do so, he returned to his van to make a call and came back 10 minutes later saying he is authorised to ake it and he will hire a crane to move our car (which along with the jag is parked on our driveway) and smash the window of the jag and hot wire it. We will then be charged for the damage!! We again calmly asked for his ID, to which he replied he didnt have any, but he would ring his boss from his mobile and we could talk to him - oh boy it gets better.

Talk about timing, our friend who is a traffic cop in South Yorks rang to ask about our holiday just as matie boy thug left, he said its illegal and to call the local police. Which we did, they have been up and have the full details and confirmed the actions are illegal. So the Jag is in the garage (locked and alarmed) our shogun is two inches from the door and the dogs will sleep in the utility tonight.

This situation is horrible and being a mum of 3 young kids is in my opinion totally unacceptable, if Barclays are in fact involved. Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Hi CLARE, as i pointed out, you may be best logging into

www.carcreditcomplaints.co.uk theres a couple of guys running the site who will answer straight away, they will be able to advise quite quickly on this subject, as they deal with a lot of Legal cases, and also have a Partnership in place with a Solicitors, who will look at this case for you

  12. If it's anything like the one I got with my SAR from Cap1 then it will be the usual rubbish. When you get it back, keep the envelope. Mine was dated 17/2 but the letter inside was dated 29/1.

They will include screenshots which will be quite small (two to a page). Read them carefully. I found a lovely snippet on mine which will stuff Lowells should they try it on again. :)

Will do thanks again, ill keep you posted

  13. How come your holiday request was declined? Firstly, no firm can decline a request for Holiday entitlement without a very good cause.

If your firm Double booked you with someone else off at the same time, then priority goes to the person who have made a financial commitment first.

Did you book your holiday before asking for time off? if you did then you should have checked first really, but that is still not a reason for it not to be honoured.

My firm wont take Holiday bookings for each year till The start of the year, i booked to go im May, asked work, they said it is no problem, i booked, then told them the date.

Came in after Christmas, my boss booked the same time off, he said as he is the owner he has preferential treatment, me i told him he told me to book it, so he backed down lol.

  14. I booked a holiday with Thompson via the internet. I paid the inital £100 desposit when booking just before Christmas. I paid another £1000 on February the 2nd and told the representive that the final payment would be made early march, despite the holiday due to take place on March 16th he said that this was fine (total holiday value circa £1600). Between February 2nd and today i received the flight tickets, detailed flight information/pick up information and a free guide book.

When i called today to make the final payment i was told that the holiday had been cancelled due to non payment and that payment has to be received within 6 weeks prior to the holiday and that i had lost the money.

i need to now if Thomson can legally accept money knowing that the final payment could not be made until March.

Do i have any rights at all

And will a SAR include the telephone call. When you ring up it says that calls are recorded. I have contact my phone provider and got the date and time that i was told by the representive that payment in March would be ok.

Any help greatly appricated, i can't afford to lose this much money and both my girlfriend and i are devestated that we appear to have lost a fantastic holiday.

It's worth pointing out that, to this date, i have not received written confirmation or notice that the holiday has been cancelled. When i called today the representive said that they did try to contact me once but were unable to reach me. This was by phone.

    :x:x

Sounds weird they have sent the tickets out if its not paid.

Ring the Airline that you are flying with, quote flight number, and ask if you are booked on the flight and its not been cancelled, and maybe phone the Hotel, see if they still have you booked in!

No idea why they sent them out if its cancelled, as if they cancel a holiday, it is usually 8 weeks before you go
