  1. I've taken advice from this site and taken my laptop back as it has been repaired once-the same letter has dropped off again. Currys were having none of replacing or refunding and have offered to repair it-again. How long should it take-I've only had this 3 months and already it's been away for repair. I said I don't want the letter stuck on again and they said theywould 'probably' replace the keyboard. I'm useless at negotiating and accepted that. How will I know if they have replaced the keyboard and not just stuck the letter on again? I don't want to mark the keyboard in case I have to have it refunded if this fails. Any ideas as to how I could 'mark' it?
  2. Thanks, I'm off to Currys tomorrow- I'm not looking forward to it but I just know this will happen again if it's repaired. I'd have the new keyboard as it's a real pain once you are used to something but just don't know if they'll fob me off saying it's new when in fact it's just been glued again. Reading about Currys on this site doesn't fill me with hope as they seem to have a 'see you in court' attitude. Anyway, will post if I get a result or will be asking for more help if I don't get any joy. Thanks
  3. Thanks again. I don't have any of the original packaging-first time I've thrown stuff away immediately. Does that matter?
  4. Thanks for that-they didn't suggest it last time. How would I know they replaced the keyboard and not just 'glued' it again?
  5. At the end of October 2007 I bought a Toshiba laptop from Currys. On 13 December the letter R came loose from the keyboard. I rang Currys and a repair man came and took the computer away, 'repaired' it and the laptop was returned 10 days later. However, today, the same letter dropped off again so obviously there is a problem. I think this problem will recur as there seems to be nothing to attach this letter to unless it is glued which doesn't seem to work. Am I entitled to a new laptop as I am sure this problem will happen again? If I accept another repair how will this affect my claim for the future-if the same thing happens again after warranty expires?
