The only problem with this is that you cant set up direct debits or standing orders from prepaid cards, and getting cash from an ATM has a seperate charge associated with it. And with companies like Virgin Media charging an extra £5 per month for non-direct debit accounts things can start to get pretty expensive.

You can have your wages paid onto a prepaid Mastercard. These cards have a fee of £4.95 per month or £1 per transaction. They arent a credit card so there is no facility to borrow money, but they do carry the Mastercard logo so are acceptable pretty much everywhere (though car hire and hotel deposit facilities have to be enabled by the card issuer at their discretion). I got one recently as my Solo card was no good for certain transactions but I couldnt get a standard credit card.

Strictest confidence? They sent a demand letter to someone detailing the OC and the amount owed, yet they arent sure that the person they sent it to is the person that owes the money? I would be on the phone so fast to simply laugh at them (dont do this though, everyone will advise you never to ring them, I have done it in the past for fun only). As others have said you have sent in your request. They have replied that they have no intention of dealing with your request at this time. Escelate it to the next level now.

I would disagree with you here. The judge did not say he doesnt think the charges are unfair, all he said was that his ruling didnt MEAN that the charges were unfair. Many people, including me at an earlier time, were under the impression that the case was about the fairness of the charges. The judge has simply clarified the point that he wasnt ruling on their fairness. The whole reason for the case in the first place was that the banks know the OFT will find the charges unfair, so they launched this case to try and stop the OFT having any involvement in the charges. They lost.

buchanan clark and wells help please

Sweet Hun. Could I ask you to click the edit button on your post above and seperate the post into paragraphs? It will make it a whole lot easier to read and you are likely to get many more responses (as opposed to people who will see a whole block of text and just leave the thread). It would appear that the debt was statute barred being something like 10 years old. If my understanding is correct once a debt is statute barred it is always statute barred. However I understand that you are in Scotland? The rules may be slightly different up there. Anyway, if you can edit that first post so that its a bit more readable I am sure there will be many people on there that can offer you some helpful advice to get you through this. You have taken the first step and asked for help. Now its time to use CAG to fight back at them. -

So he could get them into even more trouble if they supply him with a Consumer Credit Agreement for someone else. What a shame that would be. -

There are certainly better people than me that will come on here and offer you better advise but I will make the following 2 points. The document asks you to refer to information overleaf. Is the document you have 2 sided, or did they supply an extra page that you havent scanned? The 2 signatures that are supposed to be your sons dont look the same. There are subtle differences between the 2. In the top signature the capital letter of the surname has a point on it where as the second is rounded. And where it loos like the name has a double 'o' in it the size difference between the first and second has been reversed. I am very suspicious of these signatures. -
I doubt you will get a response as the OP hasnt been on the forum since their last post in February.

Well I have just started reading that... CSA Code of practise I was particularly interested in 2.b) 2. General Conduct (All members) b) Show on all letters, postcards and forms the full business address, telephone number (and email address, where used). Thanks to the Credit Services Association for this wonderful page of information.

Why, what have you seen that I didnt, besides the fact that you would be forgiven for thinking it was the Child Support Agency?

Can you remember the email address that Index would have sent the payment confirmation email to? If my thinking is right you could send Index (Littlewoods) a S.A.R. and they should then send you everything they have on you, including all coomunications with you, including the email confirmation that they sent you. However, better people than me will be along soon enough with no doubt better advice. -
Dont know if anyone has seen this or if it is even of any use to anyone but it has contact details, email addresses and links for most of our friends. CSA Website

First of all are you sure that Turnbull Rutherford are solicitors? I cant find them in tinterweb. There are many people on here that will have a lot of useful information for you, however as so little time has passed since your first post I would advise that you give it a little more time to recieve some of the responses. In the mean time is there any more information on this Turnbull Rutherford? Address? Etc?

How did you pay for the goods in store, cash or card? Do you still have the confirmations from Index that you had made payment? I know its a long shot that you do but my mother has bank statements going back 26 years so anything is possible. -

If you made this payment online as stated in your first post you should be able to get hold of either your bank statement or credit card statement for that period. This would clearly show payment. -
Hi all, thanks for the responses. I was asking the question in preparation for my next onslaught against Crap One for charges. Castlebest has been very helpful on DCA cases so please leave the poor bugger alone. Have you seen how much bloody moss he has on that castle right now? Anyway, thanks so much for all the responses. Now where is that Crap One file..........
