Yes thats a good idea. I havent had any hassell regarding this from my insurers, only that they were requesting a police report because both of the stories say different things. Hopefully everything goes okay. Its just such a pain my car cost me £11,500 and was stolen in the beginning of December, I pay £1400 car insurance a year and was only given a courtesy car for 14 days (they said that i was lucky to get this) then I had to rent a car up until now, and this costs about £120 a week. I just feel very agitated about the whole situation. But many thanks again for your advice! xx

Hi All Yes I have spoken to my insurers and they say just to get a note put onto the police's system to explain that I made a genuine mistake and that should be sufficent. But the thing is I have been waiting for ages now and feel like as an insurance company they are going to find any tiny little mistake to prevent them from paying me out. I have been honest all the way through but just feel really nervous after some of the stories I have been hearing about insurance companies. Thanks for your help! Clb3718 xx

I was wondering if you may be able to give me some advice on the below query. On the 9th December 2007 my car was stolen. My partner was using it at the time to watch Sunday football over the park. He is fully insured to use my vehicle so there is no problems there. On the day he parked the car in the car park (which usually has about 100 cars in it) and ensured that the car was secured. He walked over to the football pitch and started watching his friends play. He knew that the keys were in his pocket as he felt them intermittently. Near the end of the game my partner realised that the keys had gone from his coat pocket and started to panic, he ran over to the car park and could not see the car. He immediately called the police. He then called me and stated “your car has been stolen and I have given you as the main point of contact, can you call them and tell the insurance company.” This I did. I called the police who asked me what had happened, I said that my partner was watching football over the park and his keys were stolen from the locker room. I stupidly assumed that the keys were in the locker room as my partner had not given me any information about what had happened except from that the car had been stolen and the keys had been taken. So when my car insurance called to talk to my partner he explained to them that he had been pick pocketed by somebody as he felt the keys in his pocket then by the end of the game they had gone. My insurance are now querying it as we have both given different stories, my story is not the same as the one my partner gave to the insurance company. Surly this would be seen as a general mistake as I was as home nearly 7 miles away and my partner was over the park without a mobile phone and we were both in shock as the car I have worked so hard to pay off had been stolen. Please help?
