  1. well Gerry tells me even if we pay off the amount it cannot be removed from the credit file, Can anyone else shed any light on this please? and how it can be removed.
  2. yeah that is the other idea we wanted to do that while living here, but LL wants to sell so it means another load of money moving house yet again. Its hard to save while you keep getting moved on.
  3. No sadly not, husband has 2 ccj's hes paying and 3 debts on there hes trying to get cleared off, little ones
  4. ok thank you both of you, its frustrating as all of it is from over 7 years ago, if only we had known then how long that one period of unemployment would have affected us and for so many years
  5. I did a search earlier but most were a good few years old. Is it pretty much impossible now to get a mortgage with poor credit and to top off that one person being self employed? We moved to our current rented property but now the LL wants to sell, we would dearly love it but not sure if we would get a mortgage, even if its a higher deposit. Any information appreciated. Thank you
  6. In 2009 we had trouble moving from them to a new supplier, every time we tried we had money to pay, we paid everything they asked for until they released the account and we were able to transfer to british gas. However my husband has a £20 unpaid on his credit file from them, ive contacted them twice about this saying we paid it all so please remove it, but theyve ignored me. Is there a letter or anything I can send to try and get it removed. thanks
  7. Hi All A new default has just appeared on my credit file for a loan from about 9 years ago, as far as we were aware this was a statute barred debt and it had already defaulted years ago. Is there anything we can do?
  8. oh duh yes good idea, just need to find their details, im not paying the gas yet though as disputed that and waiting for a reply , funnily enough its taking them longer to do that. But I worked it out and its a good £100 over with their estimate .
  9. well I cant pay it online either it wont accept it , theyve really locked me out forcing me to go to Moorcroft which I will not do. I can only assume they dont want paying! Sigh
  10. electric is fine but gas did look high so glad you mentioned to check it. Ive sent an email re that and a complaint, will see if I get a reply then make a payment online , thanks again everyone SWLABR9 will do that and see what happens
  11. to add you were right gas was estimated not the final read we gave making it higher
  12. yeah I said that but they said it wont get recognised and Moorcroft will still put charges on?
  13. I have an old bill from a previous address which I wanted to make payments towards not being able to afford to pay it completely. British gas have put Moorcroft onto it but I rang BG today asking if I could instead pay them rather than deal with a DCA, they refused several times payment of any sort and kept telling me to ring Moorcroft. The debt has not been sold. Can they do that? I really dont want to deal with them and had my card ready to make a payment to BG today but they wouldnt take it then started saying Moorcroft will put charges on the account if payments arent made direct to them. Do I not have any rights with this? can I not pay BG sorry hope that makes sense after an hour on the phone Im pretty stressed.
  14. yes we did, i have them ive emailed EDF, theyve now stopped us getting a transfer to our new supplier but they still dont know who we are, theyve not answered my emails either. I cannot get hold of these people its driving me nuts, is there a complaint number or anything ?
  15. Well we thought we would try something different in the new house and keep the supplier thats already here. We moved 3 weeks ago and letting agents said they would change our names over for new supply etc. . Weve now got a 'to the occupier' letter from edf stating a bill of £300! and the agents havent contacted them, so assuming the previous tenant hasnt paid, of i go to call them but I cant get through, hours on the phone left on hold! how on earth do I contact these people? I have applied to another energy company for our supply but Im assuming edf wont release it till the bills paid? not sure because only £40 of it is ours which I would happily pay if they answered their phones Any ideas? Thanks in advance
  16. We are moving house shortly and currently with an energy supplier we arent happy with. We do still owe them an amount which I cant afford to completely pay off in one go but the new house is supplied by another company. Can our current company force us to change to them in the new house? . Personally Id just like to tell them to stuff it and pay it off over the next couple of months. I know they are all pretty much of a muchness but would be nice to get one with good customer service (dont all laugh at once)
  17. well a hour after writing that, we get somewhere ,the complaint to Tonny Wray worked, thank you Rebel11 again, account now on hold, we think we are getting somewhere.
  18. more threats, no reply to complaint to Tony Wray as yet just an update
  19. I would ring up but apparently the helpline cannot answer enquiries today or some such so I wonder if you can help me . Last year I added my husband to my business as a partner Now my self assessment has come but I am confused I have one for him which includes a partnership short form in it I have a letter to myself ( I usually do mine on line) I have a letter to fill in a tax return to the business name apparently I have to do partnership forms by paper now as you cant do it on line without buying software? Now how do I work this, Ive found the partnership short form to download but it looks different to the one in my husbands form, Does he also have to fill in sa800 as well as me or is that what he has already :\ I get that we both have to do a partnership supplementary section (?) But why or how do I file a return for the business name, does that required a partnership form as well ? in that I assume I just put in the overall profit and loss? Sorry hope that makes sense, Im just very unsure as its first time doing it.
  20. Also tried calling yesterday, refused to do anything unless I paid a lump that day. They did give me the number for their own trust fund thing when ive asked for a pack from. They really are unhelpful . Complaint going in Monday morning.
  21. thank you rebel, Ive just had another letter from ST again stating they refuse to help us and will continue with debt recovery so I think thats the next step, I am disgusted with their attitude they are acting like a back alley DCA not a large utility company.
