  1. Greetings again. I'm looking to 1. Reclaim the unfair MEAF I had to pay when I moved away from GE and 2. Unlawful DD and Arrears charges etc that were levied. Totalling almost £3000 over the four years I had a mortgage with them. This £3,000 does not include the interest they levied on top. Action update. 1. MEAF reclaim letter sent in December 2007 with delivery proof provided by Royal Mail. Waiting to hear from GE about MEAF by early Feb at the latest as that will be 40 days. 2. Getting my case together sifting through the statements. No need to send SAR as I already h
  2. (MEAF = Mortgage Exit Administration Fee) Hi. Started this process back in December. Got a letter from Abbey which I've replied to. It suggests they'll be paying me a sum of money very soon as MEAF refund.
  3. Thanks Steven I'll consider doing that. With all those different claims, it's a bit of a mission!!!
  4. Howdy Folks Trust you all had a good Christmas and New Year?!?!? Time for an update: Abbey have replied to MEAF letter with a letter trying to say my old mortgage started almost TWO YEARS later than it actually did (meaning a lower MEAF would be payable) and to confirm I actually want a refund. I've replied and corrected their error. Should be just a formality to get a payment from them soon. GE is yet to reply on the MEAF front. They charged me about £300 when I remortgaged away from them. Yet when I looked at all their docs for when I took the mortgage out, there was
  5. Hi All Thanks for your various comments and suggestions. Yep, certainly no point starting with the harder cases first is there? So I'll definitely be taking them in order of ease first. On the mortgage front, I'm not looking at ERC/ERPs as that is only payable if you redeem your mortgage before a certain special period. If I did that on my current mortgage it'd be about £16K so "that ain't gonna happen!" I'm looking at those awful DD returned and arrears admin fees and interest charged on top etc. Fortunately, it's not with my current lender but the one I moved away from about

  7. ******************************************************* Hello Folks this is just to introduce this new thread. I'm a newbie CAGer and will appreciate all your support and tips. ******************************************************* Have read through the forum posts and have been much encouraged by the success stories. In the 2002-2004 period, I was hammered by bank, credit card and loan providers as I was self-employed with poor cashflow and my credit suffered as a result. After deliberating the whole claim issue for almost two years now, I've finally decided to take some action with

  9. Hi WB Been trying to start a new thread for a while now. I'm sure it's simple but I'm missing something. Can you provide a link or something to do it with? Thanks
  10. Thanks. Also looking to get another credit card at the mo as Capital One is my only Mastercard and it has proved useful on more than one occasion in the past. If they decide to freeze or close it, it would be unneccesarily disruptive.
  11. Hello All I am a new CAGer and have been on hooked on these forums for the last few hours - trying to take it all in! The resource here us truly amazing! I can only think how much better my finances would be had I known of this resource earlier and accessed help from it. I'm also in a similiar situation to robcag and would certainly consider getting a CJ setaside. However in my case, not sure what the chances are as the charging order has already been paid by me earler this year because I had to do a remortgage. Anyway, I'm following with interest. I've also been a victim of the

My SAR letter goes out tomorrow, recorded delivery.
