  1. apart from the £300 one they sound exactly like the amounts you get charged for going over your overdraft and having stuff bounce, it may be an idea to call the bank and ask them directly exactly what the £300 was for
  2. dont worry , it will be redirected via the internal mail system, however i would advise you to send your next one to either your local branch or straight to the customer service centre in leeds
  3. yes i know, i got one from hsbc solicitors today, and i thought great this should be it, but alas no they want a breakdown of my charges lazy ba******
  4. that shouldnt be a problem, make sure that you put in the appropriate line(s) in your preliminary regarding this (from the library), however i dont believe that they have to reinstate your credit card if they dont want to, they could justify it as a business decision
  5. basically the wording within the preliminary letter also asks for evidence of any manual intervention, so your covered from that angle, so off you go and dont forget your charges schedule
  6. you technically can send it to any branch or indeed the head office however i would reccomend Phil Beaumont Senior Service Quality Officer Arlington Business Centre, Milshaw Park Lane, Leeds Ls11 Opp please try and have a good read through the forum, just to brush up on your knowledge
  7. try reading this (all of it mind ) http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/bank-templates-library/6986-data-protection-act-non.html
  8. plus dont forget all that 8% interest goodness
  9. damn right dont listen to their rubbish, you have no reason why you cant persue the bank
  10. this is very strange, im claiming a similar amount and i too got exactly the same letter today (thought it was gonna be them saying i could have my money ) ive been told by one of the moderators that they do need this information and that i should send it asap, so im going to post it tomorrow and fax it to their office aswell
  11. no problem , just send one £10 and in your letter , request details for both accounts, bank and credit-card
  12. you have to tick the box to claim the interest, but also the total amount is exactly that, everything bar court fees (which are added on automatically), there are some very good threads with what to put in the particulars of claim box, however there is also something in the library section if you have a look, it will need a bit of juggling though, as there are too many lines (not words) once you put in the bit about interest aswell
  13. right then i'll do it straight away and fax it to them tomorrow , thanks for the advice
  14. did they say that the fee had been waived ,and that copies of your statements would be along shortly, if not reply to them with your £10 again and ask for copies of your original statements, and stick to the initial timetable that you stated i.e. dont start your 40 days again
  15. no need to be nervous, if you need reassurance you know where to come
  16. yep that will do fine, dont forget to send a breakdown of your charges with your preliminary aswell, saves hassle later on
  17. i think if i get to that stage, i would do both, fax and post just to make sure
  18. welcome to the boards, good luck with your claim
  19. ok i came across a slight problem today, got a letter from dg solicitors, saying please can i send them my breakdown of charges, now i understood it to be that a) they knew them anyway so wh should i waste a good piece of paper b) it wasnt required unitl a court date was being set if i have to send them the breakdown then fair enough thats what i'll do, i tried ringing them to sort it out but got voicemail any advice?
  20. either but if you're doing it by hand ensure you get a receipt
  21. in the light of recent tactics by the bank i will from now on be advising everyone to include a breakdown of charges with their initial request
  22. could you post a link to the spreadsheet that you used please?, just want to double check
  23. no that refers to the overdraft interest, the 8% interest is only claimable when you submit a court claim via MCOL
  24. yes cross out that line and initial it and accompany it with a letter stating that you accept this as an intial payment only and you will be pursuing the remainder as per your original timetable
  25. so your sending of a dpa request for your statements for the previous years , is that correct?, if so you cant send your preliminary at this stage as you dont know your total charges yet surely dont forget you can claim back up to 6 years , even if you have closed an account, any information held on you is required to be kept for this length of time, hope this makes you happy as you should get a lot more money
