  1. I have found out this week that LTSB use London & Edinburgh to underwrite their PPI. But apparently L & E were not the underwriters back in 1996 and the person from LTSB could not provide me with the information of who was. I hope this is of use to someone. I would also like to take the opportunity to wish everyone and their families a very Merry Xmas and a Prosperous New Year, (at the banks' expense).
  2. Thanks ladies, will take your advice and get on to them. At least I feel as though I am in good company when I come on the forum. Karen
  3. Hi everyone, hope you are all well. I have been in touch with LTSB regarding mis-sold PPI on a credit card and today I have received a letter from them with a case reference number on it, basically telling me that it has been 4 weeks since I told them about my concerns (actually it is longer but they seem to conveniently get their wires crossed) and that ordinarily they would have hoped to have it resolved by now. Despite their best efforts they haven't been able to yet. They will write to me again within the next 4 weeks, either with their response or with an estimate of when I can expect it. They then thanked me for my patience, (haven't had any for a long while & until you can freely buy it at the nearest supermarket, won't have any for the forseeable future). This was from the Customer Service Recovery Centre, Brighton. I presume this is a standard letter that just about everyone gets, so what I want to know is do I have to wait for them to drag their heels and if not what course of action is open to me? Any help or advice would be welcome and I wish you all the best of luck and success in your battles. :?:
  4. Thanks for all your advice. I fully intend to take this as far as possible and have more or less been told by the 'advisors' that there was no way that the policy would have paid out in my claim. Interesting times are ahead.
  5. I am trying to reclaim mis-sold PPI and following a conversation with an 'advisor' I am told that they are looking into what Act this comes under as the PPI was cancelled in 04. This is with 1 of the big 4 banks. Now I have read a bit about the FOS not being able to rule if it was prior to 05 but I would appreciate any advice of what they are going to try to use to not pay and what action I can take to remedy this. Sorry if this is a bit cryptic but I did read that the ENEMY read posts on here and while I like being well informed I think we are better off if they are kept in the dark. Thanks.
  6. In Sepember 2003 LTSB was fined by the FSA for mis-selling Scottish Widows financial products, (I've written down £1.9 million tho).
