  1. Hi I am new to these forums and hope that someone will be able to advise me. I graduated in 2006 owing the SLC £12,500, I now live and work in Portugal, I have not had any contact with the SLC, they do not know I am living abroad and do not have a valid address for correspondence. I work for a Portuguese company and pay my taxes here in Portugal. From what I have read it is up to me to contact the SLC and make payments to them. I have not done this. What I would like to know is if I have no contact with them and am not earning any money through PAYE in the UK, after 6 years can I use the Statute of Limitations to void the debt? Also what if any means to the SLC have of tracking me down in Portugal and forcing me to make payment? As you can see I do not want to pay the debt Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
