Ok, so do I just tell the agency to back and tell him no way... surely he will invoke the 2 month break clause then I'm, stuck in Nov / Dec...? I can't stop him doing this can I?

Hi, quick question for anyone out there... Am renting a propoerty at present on a years contract, with a break clause at 6 months... then two months either way... I paid the first 6 months up front and the final 6 were to be monthly from November this year... the agency have just phoned me and told me the landlord wants to increase the rent on the property... now...! - Can he do this? - Can a rental increase be forced upon me? - Am I just likely to be thrown out? given notice...? Thanks in advance....

Help... Have had a situation where an ex partner has opened a bank account in my name to transfer funds from an investment. The investment was in my name too! but read on... I have approached the bank and spoken to them about the situation and have had meetings with the bank employee and the area manager. While they are dealing with the situation regarding the employee, the bank have now offered a small compensation. The account was opened with the bank under an excuse that it was a 'birthday present' and they wanted to transfer some money into the account without me knowing! Of course I have other accounts that could have been used but the issue being that I was not with them at this point! The compensation offered I believe is very low and while there are two issues here (the banks stupidity and the fraudulent activity by the ex partner) I have gone back to the Bank stating the offer wasn't good enough... so, they turned it around!!! and asked '...so what do you think would be the right amount... adding they clearly I wanted to deal with this before I go to the ombudsman...' So... I wanted to find out if anyone has heard of any similar situations and compensation amounts? Where do I start plucking a number out of thin air? Thanks in advance.
